Another small diorama I am currently working on. - Life should not be taken too seriously ! I call it Good Grief as I recall that saying being used frequently by one of these well known Americans.

Thanks Guys for the kind words. Tonight I finished painting the " Homestead " Had a couple of paint disasters on the roof but think I have salvaged it and in doing so learnt a few things that may help prevent some future stuff ups.

Thanks guys. Now working on the groundwork on the base. I struggle to get the right " earth colours ". Always so much to learn.

Looks good already, especially that rotten roof. Maybe some washings (acrylics, oil,... >> matter of taste) and some decent drybrushing with a sponge and Tamiyas "Buff" or similar - should look even better.

I think I am doomed to a life of failure ! This was after coating my base with 3 different Vallejo washes. Sponge painting several shades of light brown on and then dry brushing 2 more lighter shades. Thanks for the advice Tig, I appreciate it. I tried those things. I have Tamiya Buff but did not use it, I think I am going in the right direction but not using the right colours. ?

Theres no failure. And no wrong colors - its totally up to you, so the Buff is no "must have".

Peter, Even before get to know the story, I am already amazed at the theme. You always make things 'in a dream' theme with choice of color. Now, the bike might be not serious scale but cartoon themed?

Now, the bike might be not serious scale but cartoon themed? I am really pleased to see you posting here Ahsan. Diorama is only limited by ones imagination - although sometimes in my case, they get hijacked by my rather twisted sense of humour. I will be using a realistic bike about the right size / scale. This is not too far from finished now. I have to finish the ground work and complete some accessories that will be added.

Peter, Can't wait to see accessories. In terms of sense of humor, it takes talent to have a good sense of.

Just a thought, but if the base of the wooden dog house is green with moss and mold, it would be reasonable to have a lot of grass and other plants which require a lot of water. Green moss wouldn't grow where vegetation would be sparse.
It might be a good opportunity to have a try with static grass.

Thanks John for your imput. I have a lot more plants to add yet. I am a bit intimidated by static grass - fear of it not turning out well. I built a static grass applicator out of one of those fly zappers after watching a "How To "on you tube but prefer the safer option of tufts from Green Line, Joe Fix or Mininatur. Your plants on Chases End look great.

Fear not the bug zapper. They work pretty well and I built mine for about $6.
