Well, with the latest project about to hit the paint shop a new project has to be chosen to feel the wrath of my glue brush, this time a 1/76 scale Airfix Cromwell looked the obvious candidate sticking nicely with my 'Green for now' Theme I intend to build this one as out the box, with the usual adding of missed detail that Airfix saw fit to miss ATB Sean

Thanks mate, its a 'new tooling' kit so should go together quite nicely.
I have 2 of these in the stash, but I have a plan for a ' kit bash' for the second one.... I did intend to build a Cavalier with the second one, but the differences between it, the Centaur and Cromwell are next to none visually, I could of gone down the ARV route but that would of required a lot of work. What I have planned is a lot less work scratch buildingwise and a bit different.... All will be revealed in the future....

One of my favorite allied tanks, I built one a year ago in 1:35 scale as a rustbucket.

Construction more or less done, this has to be one of the best Airfix armour kits I've ever built in regards of ease of construction and level of detail, I highly recommend it. Will start to add some stowage and maybe some camo netting to this one next. ATB Sean

Hi Sean
How does this compare size wise to the 1/72 stuff you've done? It looks a really nice kit and I was wondering if it would fit in with my stuff?
Thanks
Andrew

At this scale if you put the two scales side by side I'd reckon the 1/72 would be about 4mm longer compared to the 1/76. As I explained in one of our other conversations, when I used to game I had both 1/76 and 1/72 mixed together, in both Allied and Axis forces, you just have to make sure you buy all the same make/chassis in all the same scale, past that you'd not notice.

Nets, mud ( made believe it or not from Semolina/PVA as a test, and Semolina/ PVA and Humbrol 'Earth' weathering powder mix, also as a test ), and stowage added. Figure from Milicast. Paint next.... Soon...ish..... ATB Sean

Even though I'm currently looking at this on my phone, I reckon this has to be one the best I've seen you do.
A really nice weathered finish, dirty but not too dirty, great camo and excellent stowage. Great job!
