Russ, stay on task. What are your M50's and M51's going to shoot at if you don't finish the M47? Talk more soon, Joel.

Well, speaking of IDF stuff, I had so much fun doing the whif IDF M26, and I had a set of Friul Merkave4 tracks that didn't fir ANYTHING, even the sprocket Friul puts in the box, so I tried something..... Looks like another IDF whif is in the works. I mean, really! The Merk tracks fit the Italeri M47 sprocket like they are supposed to. Is that a sign, or what?

Well, I decided I wanted to save the Friuls for something else, so in a flash of logic, I remembered I had a set of DS tracks from an Orange Box M46, begged off another forum, that I was going to use on my M26 IDF Whif, that wouldn't work because they didn't fir the M26 drive sprockets. I know that's a run-on, but I'm talking about tracks, okay? Anyway, I realized I had another option, after once again trying my (shaky) hand at assembling the AFV Club tracks, and stopping again before I hurt myself. And bingo: IMG_0552 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_0551 by Russel Baer, on Flickr I have a good idea of what's next on the bench.

Ahhh so is a model being built. Just 'cause as we all could see was the pudder busket's madding square with cute kitten showing, it was a little hard to tell An' the tracks look good too

Yup. So I did some hull work the other day, and decided that while DEF does some fine PE, I will use a lot of kit parts instead. Once again, tiny, tiny parts. Pics asap.

Thanks gents. I did get all the MrSurfacer off the turret railings, and have a day off tomorrow, so hope to do some more modeling, AFTER I run the mower around my out-of-control "yard".

Today's progress.... didn't expect to have any modeling time today, but I have a foreign object in my knee, long story, and stayed home from work. So, what else to do? Model! IMG_0563 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_0561 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_0560 by Russel Baer, on Flickr The last major addition is the mantlet cover retainers, very fiddly looking etch. I also need to decide which 50 cal to use, the DEF resin covered part or build up one from the DEF etch and something from the stash, Tasca if I have any left.

It's always good to see old kits receiving some love, too!
The results can be exceptional, just like here.

T'anks guys. More soon, I hope. I was a little disappointed I couldn't get the etch headlight guards to to co-operate, but the kit stuff looks better than I'd hoped after a healthy thinning.

I like the look of the ROK tanks, just need to decide if I can do the camo with a brush. Otherwise, Jordanian maybe?

I like the Jordanian scheme, you can have one of your M50/M51 Shermans knock it out
