I like the Jordanian scheme, you can have one of your M50/M51 Shermans knock it out Maybe passing it on a dio? Well, here are current pics. I used some of the DEF stowage, and ended up going with the kit jerry cans on the turret since every time I tried attaching the resin DEF cans I broke something. Argh. Other than than, I think it's ready for paint. IMG_0564 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_0565 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_0566 by Russel Baer, on Flickr I also had a periscope guard from a Shapeways vendor on the loader's periscope, but I broke it so many times I gave up and used an old Dragon Sherman part. The Shapeways guards were beautiful, came 10 to a "sprue", but I broke four cutting them off, then two more after installing them. Too bad, they were pretty.

That looks fantastic Russ! The stowage is a nice touch! Shame about the periscopes, but the 3D stuff is quite brittle to work with. Good lick on the paintification!

Thanks Todd. I've used some 3D printed parts before, just nothing this delicate. Too bad too, they were beautiful. Anyway, green: IMG_0567 by Russel Baer, on Flickr My favorite, Krylon "camouflage" green. Still looking for pics of ROK M47 camo.

Thanks Leon. Just for giggles, I googled "ROK M47 camo" and up popped a whole bunch of pics of the Academy boxing of this kit, with the mods included for the ROK Marines tanks, all in living color, plan views. It shows a combination hard/soft edge scheme, do-able.

Wife's up there with her sister, gonna hang out for a couple of days, catch the Chiefs game, maybe visit the LHS, get some Boulevard beer, a pork tenderloin sammich, and last but not least, some BBQ. Once our jobs here in the Austin area wind down, we're thinking seriously about moving up there, trying to ease into an early retirement.

The best hobby shop in KC Area is Hobby Haven on Metcalf in Overland Park/Lenexa. #2 is a Hobbytown USA on N. Oak Trafficway in the Gladstone area. Not to mention Sprue Bros is in Liberty, MO. They have pickup available, but, do not have a store front. Hope you get to shop them while you are here, Joel.

Thanks Joel, been to both stores and use SB a lot. In fact, my wife's cousin lives around the corner from the HT on north OAK, drop in when we're there, and hit the Hobby Haven fairly often too. Hobby Haven used to have a good selection of AM stuff for armor, including Friuls, magazines and reference books, but it looks like they've slowed that way down in the last couple of years. I guess the radio control stuff is where the money is now, which is fine with me since it keeps the cash flow up.

Thanks guys. Her's a couple of pics with the white on, Vallejo German white, more of a light gray, working well I think. The old Tamiya M41 in the background is my test mule. I'll do the black, then clear flat and try my wash on it before I do the M47. IMG_0573 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_0572 by Russel Baer, on Flickr

Washes on both now, Vallejo "wash for khaki and green vehicles" on upper surfaces, lower surfaces also have my own mix of Tamiya khaki and alcohol. The white is still "white", but toned down nicely. A shot of clear and pinwashes are next, I think. IMG_0574 by Russel Baer, on Flickr

T'anks Bill. I've had zip for modeling time lately, would like to get a bit done. Thinking of doing "straw" camo all over this thing, I have a pic of one that looks like it drove through a broom factory.

The M41 is from the recon troop. There ya go. And thanks Andy. Italeri kind of did a '70's thing on the molds, polished and pretty.

Still here, with some progress even: IMG_0582 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_0581 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_0580 by Russel Baer, on Flickr I've done some detail painting, and I think the last of the washes. Still need a radio antenna, return rollers, and whatever else I find. Thinking about what's next....

Thanks guys. Next project? I've got a few shelf queens I could get going on, including a T-62, a T-55, both Tamiya kits, a couple of M48s, one of which is an old Hobby Fan conversion that's had some rough handling over the years, and what is most likely, an M-60 with a truck-load of AM that I've been collecting over the years, based off a conglomeration of Italeri, Academy and Tamiya kits. I also have a HobbyBoss Leo2A4 up there that looks fun, and an AFV Club M60A1 that I bought over a year ago and just haven't worked up the mojo for. And then there's the pile of Shermans...... I may just have to pick something at random, although a Magach is possible. Or maybe am M-60 slick......
