And for fear of being idol and the Devil creating work blah, blah, blah...... I've decided to do a production run of Bedford QLs in various guises.... Left to right in the bottom picture I have...... a QLC Cargo transporter, a QLT thats going to be modified into a mobile engineers workshop, a QLR Radio truck, and a QLB Bofors gun tractor with the crucifix trailer ready for me to make the gun..... In the middle is the Morris BeuteLieferwagon and IG18. All the truck chassis are from Airfix and all the conversions are from Milicast with the excetion of the engineers workshop which is going to be an excuse for me to hone my scratchbuilding skills so will probably do this one last. Should keep me busy for the next month or I'd reckon!? ATB Sean

And just for a bit of colour in amongst all the Dark Yellow and Olive Drab thats in my display case I picked up these as well, I'll probably do the Matador at some point in the future but I'll be doing it in Army colours rather than RAF. ATB Sean

Need to build 80 kits per year until I'm 100 to deplete my stash. Maybe I should sell a couple.

The 1/76 idol strikes again don't think the devil stands a chance against this concentrated swarm/murder/mess (?) of Bedfords.

The 1/76 idol strikes again don't think the devil stands a chance against this concentrated swarm/murder/mess (?) of Bedfords. In Forest of Dean parlance we call any large quantity of anything either a "Yup" or a "Scain", a "Scain" being larger than a "Yup"..... cuts out all the confusion of finding the right collective name for something.

This will be a great collection once done, will you present them on a nice display or will you separate them ?

This will be a great collection once done, will you present them on a nice display or will you separate them ? I always build "stand alones" so they will all get split up and completed individually, if I didn't, in all honesty, I think I'd get bored and build something else and leave them as shelf queens.

Short of putting some crew gear on & filling some sink marks, this QLS is nearly ready for Paint..... ATB Sean

Number 1 finished!! 1/76 scale Bedford QLR, Airfix Bedford chassis with a Milicast body conversion. Marked up as 3rd (India) Air Formation Signals, my Grandads unit at the end of the war, all insignia with the exception of the stars hand painted by me. Next up on the list.... The Bedford QLC Semi-Trailer ATB Sean

Great finish on #1... stunning result! Now I am feeling your pain because next finishes have to be better than #1.

Very cool! Will you MoM them individually or as a yup? Mind you don't drop 'em, or the yup will turn into a mess of QL's after all...

Number 2 finished.... Taking a risk with these photos as they were taken on my new phone but as its got 6 more megapixels than my camera I thought I'd see how they came out.... if they're any good I'll have to think about making a mount for it on my tri-pod.... 1/76 scale Airfix/Milicast Bedford QLC "Dromedary" plus Milicast load ATB Sean

Next in what appears to be a very long line of Bedford QL bodies, of which I'll be sticking to the military use bodies..... At least 23 known military bodies alone, not including 10+ civilian bodies including an open topped bus.... A circa 1948 Fuel Tanker, this is the Airfix kit which is sold as "Battle of Britain" era but is in fact a post war tanker as war period tankers never had the booms on top, and the RAF didn't return to their blue colour scheme until 1948, before that they were all painted using Army MTPs. There is also an issue with the wheels and tyres being to small but I wasn't prepared to waste a new tool kit just for the wheels..... I may revisit the RAF fuel tanker later on and build one in war time era spec by cross kitting the new and old kits available. Anyhoo, the pictures...... ATB Sean

Tanker finished..... And on to the next..... As the picture says a Bedford QL Giraffe, should be a nice quick easy one before it all starts to get a bit more serious in scratchbuilding terms...... ATB Sean
