Museum piece for sure John, Bravo! Yeah, maybe in Madam Eudora’s “Bizarre collection of weird shite Museum.” Figures!
Yep. You’re right. It is just a collection of various WWII soldier parts. They should be pretty well disguised once I get some bright colors on there.

"Yeah, maybe in Madam Eudora’s “Bizarre collection of weird shite Museum.” "Sorry, the 1:35th section there has been reserved for the products of Jake and Dinos Chapman... www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2015/jun/16/jake-and-dinos-chapman-how-we-made-helljakeanddinoschapman.com/works/fucking-hell/jakeanddinoschapman.com/works/ship-of-fools/jakeanddinoschapman.com/works/the-sum-of-all-evil/Honestly, it would be nice to think some day some wealthy "collector" might suddenly have a revelation that the work of skilled scale modelling artists (and that's what you are) have an aesthetic value greater than some modern "art" and are as worthy of being a given a permanent home and displayed for the appreciation of a greater audience. Great Art doesn't have to have "symbolism" or "meaning": how much of the product of the masters of the past just illustrate simple tales? Nice work with the figures, by the way; I'm looking forward to seeing how they look completed. You might note there's some WW1 stuff still coming out (e.g. by ICM) which might be useful to taking you closer to the "Steampunk" era (not that there's anything wrong with "Dieselpunk"). As I recall pricey Preiser do Victorian civilians in 1:32nd scale too. Regards, M

Dennis I don't know Cory. But this is meant to be a scene borrowed from a different book written by Kevin Anderson and Neil Peart called Clockwork Angels. It's a long story, but it all ties-in with the final album released by Canadian group, Rush.

One has to be crazy not to appreciate not only the level of detail involved in this build but the creativeness behind it as well. Hats be off to you for all you're putting into this John. Wow!!

I went and looked up the name Rocinante. I knew about the spaceship which was featured in a Rush album back about 1980 and I knew that it was also the name of Don Quixote's horse. But there were several uses of the name in more modern literature. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocinante_(disambiguation)Given that most SciFi writers have probably listed to a whole lot of Rush and also read a whole lot of literature, it stands to reason that the name is now associated with any type of noble and dependable steed which carries the hero into adventure.

Hi John, one of the main characters in the Expanse books James Holden explains to the rest of his crew the name change of the ship to Rocinante he explains the connection to Don Quixote and the horse; he is one of two 'earthers' on the ship the rest of the small crew are a 'belter' and a Martian they do not know of the literary connection. Amos, the other earther doesn't care. Rocinante carries the crew through many great tales. Keep on with the great work, I look forward to more. Dennis.

On my ship, the 'Rocinante' Wheeling through the galaxies, Headed for the heart of Cygnus Headlong into mystery - Neil Peart Wires and electricity. Roughing in the "mechanicals". It's also a nice way to hide the 4 miles of wire. More work needed in here as well.

The ship has been on hold for 3 months while I built the Star Trek shuttle. With the shuttle now complete I'm able to move back into the shipyard. Landscaping done on the base as well as final decisions about where to run wires. Every train station needs a clock tower. (Broken Timex reused. More stonework needed to cover the exposed wood.)

Love the way you use a mixture of architectural styles in your model.
What I love about unplanned scratchbuilds is that it ican be so ad hoc that one's subconscious mind gets a chance to reveal itself - hence conscious. A dream manifested.
I never know what you will do next. Full of surprises; and doing a great job of it.

Good to see this one making it back - so much for doing OOB with no lights, ey? I thought I'd heard that name before - 'Rocinante' was a ship in the Syfy Channel series 'The Expanse' (third season about to kick off) Worth a look IMO.

Outstanding work is your trademark. Thanks. But there's nothing special here. just do one thing often enough and your results will improve over time.....Also, if it goes badly, don't post it. Facade over the clock and beginnings with the elevator car. Most of today will be used in getting the elevator finished.
