First cast and test build (cannons still missing). Some bubbles in the body, but ok for the background ties.

Thanks. Feels a bit lost in space at the moment Pipe mockup, just a few for now to get an idea of space and layout. I want to freeze an earlier shot than shown before, explosion as deep as possible, so there's more to see inside.

Casting some detail sets to turn ps profiles into refinery-like pipes and tanks for inside decoration. Inside decks mockup. Most of this part will be covered by surface, but there are enough holes to see everything. Surface greeble party

Some little progress on the surface. Grid structure as seen on a studio model photo. The core of an unfinished tower "growing" out of a grid. In the studio model, the towers were mainly facades with nothing behind or in it, but that looks weird for a scale model. I refer to the small grey vertical lines in the background (middle-right) in this screencap - could be such a structure: Same with outer structure. Needs some scattered plating. And color to see how it really looks like.

Would love to see this in person one day. Might be a bit far away from you but for those who are in Germany end of october, the model (and me in person, and other incredible builders and their work) will be at the spacedays scale model show oct. 27+28 2018 at Darmstadt (near Frankfurt).

The last weeks were very stressful, different events to master (non-model-related) and finally preparing things for the spacedays model show. First, some updates from the build so far. New details: Some of the pipework for the tunnel part, not finished with details. I built another Tie and battle-damaged it: It was NOT the cat! She's very respectful with my models. The first Tie (to the right) is still fine. Photo was taken while planning my desk for the show. The port was still unfinished, but at least somewhat representative with a quick'n'dirty lighting solution. I will add some images in the next post.
