been waiting for a certain package for what seems like months, but really just a few very long days. It showed up late yesterday (was getting dark). Opened it late last night, and in were three armor kits:
* Takom late Panther A with full interior * Takom Panther A mid/late with Zimmerit and full interior. * Asuka Firefly MK.Vc
I can tell you upfront that the Firefly is fantastic, and now regret not getting two of them. I had the Takom Panther A late kit once before, but somebody wanted it more than I did (thief), and it's really nice with one small issue. You don't get all the radios to build a command tank, and guess which one I want to do! The Takom kit with Zimmerit was somewhat of a disappointment. The Zimmerit is very fine, and just doesn't look real. Plus it looks like it's incomplete! Otherwise the kit is the same as the other.

Looks like you exercised a good deal of restraint while still getting some essentials Andrew! Must have been the wife's presence, right?
I may be daft but I'm NOT stupid!!
Seriously though I've only got a small cupboard to store my stash, tools, paints and completed kits plus PSC are due to release a Sexton set later this year and then there's the buildings id' like to get plus I really need to build some of the stash!!

Some real antiquities in that lot! I remember buying the Nieuport 28 when it was still in a box rather than in the bag. That Airfix Magazine will probably be a bit of an eye-opener for you...
Cheers,

UPS dropped by awhile ago, and left a box of goodies! 1. The new Academy Panzer IV 2. Hasegawa A6m5c (newer Zero) Zero in 1/32 scale 3. Kitty Hawk P39 in 1/32 scale 4. Star WWII German decals (three sheets)
all these kits and decals came from the Spru Brothers 20% off sale. These are the second lot I've picked up from that sale. gary

I'm going to order two BergPanther D's and a BergPanther A. Kinda waiting to see if the "D" comes with the rear spade and brackets. gary

According to the box art picture, it does not. Perhaps you could modify the FAMO spade from Tamiya as a "field modification".

I kind of gather that some BergPanther D's had the spade while others didn't. There's a spade in the Revell/ICM BergPanther D. Yet who knows for sure as they might have got that wrong. What I really want is the brackets to mount the spade, and I'll simply steal that from the Revell kit. gary

got to look at the BergPanther D today, and it appears they didn't include the rear spade. Shame as many had it. I tod the guys I was good for both the A nd D kits next week (when the welfare check arrives). Plus the fact that the late Tiger showed up from RFM. I must say they have hit it out of the park this time!!! Thought the Fehmann kit was good, but this one may be better. Think this may well be the golden year for armor in plastic. At least the year of the Panther!

Hi all
So three new arrivals, two absolutely necessary and one completely free!!
ATB
Andrew
-----------------------------------------
This first purchase has some sentimental value as I have in my own very small way helped this particular kit come into existence.
Two years ago the Plastic Soldier Company launched a Kickstarter campaign for their 25pdr & quad kit, which I contributed to. They had a large number of "stretch goals", most of which they hit. The final one being this kit at £30k and whilst we didn't quite make it (477 of us put up £23.3K) we obviously got close enough to help it come into being earlier than might have otherwise been.
As far as I am aware the only other Sexton in this sort of scale is Millicast's resin one that goes for around £15, not cheap - this was £19 for three kits, with the ability to make early and late versions.
Another purchase from PSC. Seen good things about these. Laser cut 2mm MDF and thin card (you can still smell the burnt MDF if you get close enough!). Initial impression are looking good. As a nice touch they even provide a free painting guide for newbies (here).
This one was completely free.....from work! My name got entered into a monthly prize draw after I did a good piece of work and I won! The question is what do I spend it on??

Chaos, I had to look up that Akuyaku. I like a lot of the Studio Ghibli steampunk/dieselpunk style stuff. It's a bit hard to read the box; how many crewpigs did you get in that version? Even in 1/72nd it's going to be a bit of a beast, not quite a "Ratte" but impressive nonetheless. I had a sudden urge to scratch build a land battleship, but don't worry, it'll pass...
Regards,
M

question: who did those decals? At the place I used to work (remember used to work!!<g>), there was a large photo of a Korean War M46 tank with the whole front end painted just like the decal scheme. Always wanted to do that one! gary

That's one helluva haul there chaos!! Wow man!
Took my $20 Hobby Lobby gift card I got for my B-Day and a 40% off coupon today and picked up a kit I've been wanting all year. I want to build this car for an old friend of mine named Alfonso back in my hometown. Alfonso loves old Chargers and when I was a kid he knew I did too. He let me drive his 1970 Charger R/T one day to school. Man...….that car was bad ASS!!!!
NE wayz…..here's the kit:

I've been thinking about a couple F5 / T38's for quite awhile. grabbed the new Kitty Hawk F5e kit awhile ago. Price was $20 cheaper than Spru Brothers F5f, and I just couldn't resist.
Looking inside the box leaves one flabbergasted! The decal sheet (S) cover just about everything one could imagine and then some more. Instruction booklet looks very nicely done. Plastic looks very well done, and I would class it at least Hasegawa quality. Now I want another one to do the Sun Riser's theme.
