Watched a 1956 Pathe Youtube video about a guy who built 1/20th scale cars, with a wood body which was painted later on of course. It got me to thinking....anyone know when modelers started using silicone & resin? Or resin parts being sold at the lhs? Earliest I remember in 74-75(?) when I bought Armtec's 1/72nd scale RF-4C(?) nose to put on (I think) Revells Phantom.

Verlinden stuff back in the 80's was the first time I ever heard about it. But given that Verlinden products were pretty advanced at the time, I would say that resin for models had been in use prior.
