Hi to all. I'm building a model. We can say that this is the "grandmother" of the famous Su-122... Info >>> warspot.ru/8934-ternistyy-put-k-su-122I drew it in 3D. Good help at work. Everything is visible and it is possible to make changes in safe mode without making mistakes in working with plastic. The drawings are imperfect, the side and front views do not converge with each other. I had to improvise... The basis of the model - a new set of Zvezda T-34/76 The rest is handmade. The gun will be drawn in 3D and printed. It is much faster and better. The complex form is that I am blind from tamiya putty. So far, so good.

3D tower has been slightly fixed. The size of the finished plastic tower. On this basis, painted a new gun. Now print.

I sculpt a section that seemed difficult for precise cutting in plastic. This.
A bit of plastic and putty Tamiya
Small items are also set.

The basic geometry is ready. Waiting for a gun from print - the moment of truth

Wonderful scratch building. Will you add interior to open-top SPG or make close top option??

No - it's a long time, and the foundation is not suitable for this. There will be either a cloth or iron roof.

this Dragon wheel is very narrow - glued plastic 0.3. Otherwise, the track does not fit completely. And made a smaller hole for installation

It seems to me that making a steel roof is much easier than sculpting a highly artistic cloth...

Option with a soft roof. more suited to the general idea of this SPG - but I do not like it.
A heavy, thick-skinned car - and such a roof ...
The second option is a steel ceiling
Different colors make it difficult to understand the true picture. Painted the gun. After that it is easy to rinse.

I like the look with the metal roof. What will you do for the gunner's sight?

Not sure yet. But 3 options are possible. 1. Some high construction, reminiscent of the protection of the sight like the Su-122. 2. Just a hatch with steel doors, like the Su-85 3. Here is such a design. There is one big minus. An empty tower will be visible through the hole...

Looks good so far! You'd never know it wasn't plastic when you're done.
I remember doing a paper tank, MkIV, if I remember correctly, back in the late 70's. Can't remember where the instructions came from and I only got as far as the hull and turret, but it was a fun project. Of course it's gone into the abyss, but it sure interesting to build.
Ruck On!

I gather that this track never saw production! Too bad! I'd love a kit of this one. Good work by the way Gary

sturmbird - i think the problem is that all sets are slightly different in geometry. It is not possible to place this part on a dragon or academy. Need to cut ... And to make several options for different sets is probably unprofitable.
