...Red Skelton standing by. Is Helen Reddy standing by? Red Foxx? They didn't have the Red Rocker (Sammy Hagar) did they?

Jeez..... .....I did mean Marble Pattern. Sorry Gang. Joe, inspite of the misspelled word, I still have the same question, why do a marble pattern? I don't recall seeing anyone doing this on Armor models so I'm wondering about why it's done on aircraft. I'm going to do my first aircraft build for the 190GB and am trying to learn before I start. Marble pattern laid out in steps Brian. Sorry for not getting back to you potna. Lay down a black base: Then using a finer needle in the AB, lay down random gray "marble" patterns: Then tighten the pattern up a little more.... After that step, color can be laid down in VERY light coats so that the marble pattern "bleeds" through the color ever so slightly creating a bit of color modulation. Look closely and you'll see it on the view from the top:

Thanks Joe! I appreciate the explanation. +1 Just my 2 cents ... in some cases it may be useful to use airbrush stencils such as these:

I've seen people make these from things just laying around the house. Old sponges, towels, t-shirts. Paper towels, poking holes in paper or cardboard.

I used some index cards and burned holes using skinny incense sticks from the family altar for a mask for German ink spot camouflage.
Now, where are those TIE fighters? My scopes are negative…
