Success, little by little I glued and clamped it, seems to be holding ok. On the downside, forgot to take a pic of the interior before I fitted the upper, will try to grab an image through the back doors for you.

What an awesome kit. You are doing a magnificent job on it so far. The interior work you have done on it is rally top notch.

Thank you chaps. Today I started the running gear. No issues, fell together, quite a bit of clean up though.

Thanks all, painting running gear at the mo and test fitting later, then I will see if not fitting the running gear at the suggested earlier stage has paid off.

Well, we have success, I'm in no doubt that fitting the running gear before the fenders is the way to go but with a little planning you can achieve it later in the build. Tracks are nice, two pieces of flexible vinyl / resin per run which take primer and paint well. I managed to break one but fortunately they respond positively to Cyano and I was able to fix it. Added the light guards to the hull earlier, they were fun.

I don't believe I've ever seen this type of tank before Mence. I do like what you're doing with this and progress is coming right along strong. Watching.....

Shameless plug...Hey mence, since ya did such a fantastic job on that Ontos...whaddya say ya pick another big kit and fall into the BSGB? Even in 1/16th that vehicle isn't big, sure looks cool though. The Veteran I talked to who crewrd one in Nam said it was thr true " shoot and scoot" vehicle.

I'm not going to say no but reality is it comes down to free time. To put that into perspective, this is my second build this year and it isn't for the want of trying! Model building isn't my only hobby, I collect diecast cars and I'm a keen motorcyclist so trying to fit everything in as well as day to day stuff is a challenge. I'll see what happens when I wrap this one up, I know my lovely wife has got me a kit for Christmas but I very much doubt its large scale...

Update alert! Got the majority of small bits attached to the outside and first coat of colour on. Quick pic shows some of my over done interior weathering. Back soon.

And a little more. Rear doors are now on, so is the door for the spare shell storage. Turret? Is starting to take shape as well.

I totally understand the free time thing, we are packing for a move next weekend. All in good fun. Thanks for being so kind in your decline. Please watch if you can as your skills and observations would be welcome. Really like your Ontos, I might have to put one in my stash. Built the Revellogramnas a kid and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Today though....it might get a " what if" paint job and a set of wild Sci-Fi markings.

Interior is not overdone at all. If anything the wear and dirt should extend up a bit more from the floor. Doubt the guys in the field spent their off time washing and waxing.

Outstanding attention to detail in that interior Mence! I really get a kick out of a well detailed engine or passenger compartment/ interior. Just puts the icing on top of an already good build going on here. I'll throw my hat in the ring for agreeing that the interior weathering is about right. I spent around 7 years in field artillery and have seen a good number of tracked vehicle interiors that looked the way you have it. Beautiful progress!!

Those barrels look great! Did you have any issues dealing with warped barrel if they came in two pieces?

Chaps. More fiddly than I expected largely due to the tight fit but the barrels are painted and installed. Plenty more to add but the finish line is in sight. Thank you for your continued interest.
