Hey MSCer's, Yeah, like a bullet shot into the air, never knowing where I will land!! LOL!! I am putting together a small vignette for something and figured I would take a break from all the projects going on and attack something! First thing I will need for this is a figure ...I happened to have this head (below) that I had painted a while back but never finished putting the body together for yet another failed attempt on the shelf! This seemed to fit what I was looking to convey with this build...."Oh my Goodness" ...translated from the subject above. So.......tonight after supper, I ran downstairs and grabbed the srue with the body on it, sanded, glued and went after this with an airbrush. The body, hat and left arm ready for some priming. First coat was a little K4 Dark Sand. Yes, this works well for a primer and it dries quickly. Also I would normally use something like A Tamiya Dark Yellow or Desert Yellow for a base coat and the K4 version was close to it! Next up, came a little flesh color. Using K4's Flesh C I highlighted the bare skin areas. After a couple minutes of drying time, I took some K4 Flesh A and dusted the bare skin areas. I then loaded some Tamiya Khaki and shot the majority of the fella's shorts and his hat. Back at the K4, Flesh B to accent some areas on the skin. Why wait when you need not to...upstairs I went, grabbed some oils, popped a couple dots, blended to lighten the flesh tones and then a really light dry brush to the shirt, shorts and boots. The figure is essentially done for the moment. I will allow the oils to dry for a bit, and then I will seal and then apply a real light wash to pick out some details. In the meanwhile (tomorrow..LOL) I will cut a small base and begin some ground works. As always I thank you for stopping by!!!

Hey There!! Time to start the second part of this "multifaceted" project. Time to start the base section. With a plaque I had, umm, lying around I started some construction. Thinking this is set somewhere in North Africa, I decided to use some creative license here and go with a somewhat Romanesque remnants on this scene. Using mostly items at hand here at the house ans some Millput, the basic structure is laid out on a piece of plastic card stock, offset for interest. Having some time to have at this, I laid down some grit infused paint for texture, Primed, Shaded, Hand painted some Vallejo Stone Grey followed by a couple of washes with some AK! Off to put some "clutter" together for this one!! This is moving along pretty quickly as I have plans for a couple different items for this one. Will have another update soon! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Thanks ER.... Wall paint/floor paint? I would say I am going for the faded white wash effect that happens on old stone structures. The paint I used was Vallejo Color on all surfaces and then the top coats were K4 White and Flesh. Stay tuned...I made more progress...just need to process the pics!!

Sorry bout that ER....no, this is from Vallejo. I seemed to not have the original jar this came in...a while back! I believe it may be "Black Lava" . Designed for this application. www.acrylicosvallejo.com/en_US/fine-arts/auxiliary-products/1 Pretty neat stuff. Never had a big use for it...till now!!! ;D

Thanks a bunch Sam~! Clutter: I needed to break out some Armor Farm Printables. This one was calling for a pallet. And what is a Vignette without a damaged 55 gallon drum. Of course the barrel with get some treatment along the way. Finally, a little dry fit on the tiny man!! Thinking some of this gets glued and placed and I will be in some business to work some Armor Farm plant life. Thanks for stopping in!!!

You rock T, simple as that ! Man I'm sorry for jumping by so late, I just can't keep up with you guys ! OK, the project then, nice figure, lovely expression you caught on the guy's face. The base, I like the cornered stairs. And there will be a (fallen) pallet (fantastic finish btw!!) and boxes all over the place, I like the idea !

Thanks BJ!!! Appreciate those kind words!! Thanks G...you are way to kind! Just trying my best to keep up with you!! I would have went with the wheelbarrow, but the tutorial has not come out yet!!! Had to go with the simple pallet!!! Thank you very much Cap!! All the credit on the expression goes to Master Box on this!! Stock figure OOB! But I have to say, coming from a guy who does not go after doing figs, this was a real treat!!! Great molds and easy to use! I will be stocking up on some figure sets if they are all like this!! OK...let's put this one to bed!!!! I made up some Armor Farm German Supply Boxes...these are actually great to work with. Easy to cut, cut lines printed on and around and super high quality printings/markings on them! Some of these boxes made it through a weathering stage I have been working on! .....still easy to work with!! I hit the barrel I painted with a little chipping and weathering and it was time to stick this one down! Here I also wanted to give this one some character. As you can see, the barrel is tipped spilling whatever contents were left in it. The boxes and pallet are ready for placement now. Here I placed all the components. I thought this would be an interesting little scene....fitting for the name! Next up was a bit of ground works.....Again, I turned to the Armor Farm! Using some of the Barley and Wheat with a couple added Buffalo Turfs from Silflor...plug and glue and repeat!! A little drying and that ....is that!! Thanks for the support along the way on this quick one!!! Gallery bound!!!

Thanks for the accolades there jackwagon!! I love working with the AF stuff...too easy!! As for the amount used verse purchased....I used a total of 10 boxes from the sheets in a package......I still have 3 1/2 sheets left from the original 4 sheets in the package!!! This stuff will last for the money spent!! Thank you BJ!!! As for imagination....might be a part of the brain that still works at the moment!! LOL!!!
