T , by then there will be paint on this puppy and hopefully the weathering started. I'll post step by step of the painting and weathering....unless it starts to look like crap. Been some time since I last did a normal, and dirty tank. Am anxious to try out those chipping fluids from AK

I must say: I thing that the uglyness of the JSU makes it actually beautiful...odd isn't it? ;D

Hi Rob I've been experimenting with those AK chipping fluids lately, and I'm very interested in what you think. They don't seem to like Tamiya acrylics, they make the top coat go motley and change tone. Don't know if it's me, they're better with vallejo but still change the tone a little. Watching closely mate.
Cheers JT

JT, I'll keep my out for changes in color, thanks for the heads up bud. Wout's, yep something about this beast that is appealing eh. Nah Ian, I've done this before so no worries.... shocking isn't it tho (LOL)
ok fellas, i'm wrapping up the build part tonight, mainly the small bits that take long to clean up. Hopefully priming in the next couple days.

Got slowed down a bit after cleaning small parts, then jabbed my finger with a new knife blade. Was infected a couple days so it slowed me down. Will try today to get the tanks done then slap some primer on this baby. The sooner I get this one done , the sooner I can play with rust again. I ordered a few more KV's from Bob so I should be set for a long time. Z has been hooking me up with TONS of great pics.

Sorry bout the fing fing getting stuck...been there, sucks!!
Nice bid on getting the KV's!! I have a Trumpy KV-1 in the stash!! Don't think I will be pulling this one out until the Storm passes...LOL!!!
I caught one of Z's links way back on these....awesome stuff! I found the other night whenI was looking for something on google, I then typed the same phrase, like "burnt KV Tank" in my language translator converting it to Russian, German, French and so on. Then just copied and pasted that into google. Just a thought if you had some time...
Are you making it Saturday?

Big and mean looking eh Prof. Well got a great idea from Bob Muckley on ML about adding a log to one side in place of the two fuel tanks. I'll see what I can come up with real quick and might do it. Fuel drum and tarps on the engine deck ?

Hey T. Finished my stuff and got to do up a log and the tanks. Just prepped everything for priming. Going for a smoke and while I'm at it I'll shake some paint bottle and the primer. Next update will be with the paint on.......unless the missus has other plans. No Matress tho (LOL)

Sorry Z, but I think you'll be happy now. ;D ;D The primer is on.....that means painting tonight...then weathering...then white wash ...etc...etc...etc. Here is a pic of the log that is on the one side of the tank. A branch from the back to the rescue. Now for the primer. I used the Vallejo 4Bo primer on this model, but forgot to take a pic of it with the model. The primer is the same exact color as the Tamiya plastic...that made things harder when priming, but I think I got it all. Will get the CM on tonight. I will only use two, maybe three of the AK CM set. I am not a big fan of the CM but do like looking at what others do with it....especially Iain. For those who can do this well ( Iain, Ken) I have the greatest respect. So back to the AB.

Thanks for the support Chris. Got the CM on. I used three colors but it's hard to see in the pics. I will take better pics with the bottles in the pic. Basically here is how she looks. I didn't do anything to the lower hull because this will get covered in dirt and mud. Will apply a filter or two and some pin washes tomorrow.

Rob- If you absolutely must do a vehicle that looks like it might still run...
Beat it up and leave off most of the tools- make it look like a veteran of the Berlin Battle!

Hiya Steve She'll be a runner, but one who's seen better days, well at least the wash rack ;D The green is actually darker than in the pic and will darken more with the filters. Been thinking of adding different decals than the kit supplied ones. Might have some from a KV II I did some time ago.
