Nice pattern Marc! Now on to the fun part, picking out those tools, but I've got 100% confidence you'll nail it. After all you are the PB miniature maestro!

Impressed and frustrated all at once.
Impressed because you make Braille Scale modeling look so easy, frustrated because I can't do it!
More please....

Hey Marc I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think one of your X's was supposed to be an O. Better strip her down and start over again.... Seriously though, that is some impressive work right there. Of course, I would expect nothing less from you.... so don't screw it up, OK??!! ;D

Thanks guys. Boyd... Strip it down again? Now that's just sick! A very quick pic of a step I was able to take while I wait for the oven to free up for my next batch of food. Yup... I am the cook! Sprayed with a buff filter to homogenize the overall look. That's 5 coats at a 5/95 paint/thinner mix.

ER, Bill, Steve, Andy... belated thanks. CARL? You're here? My safe haven from has been found! ;D Good to see you over here. You're gonna fit in well here. So... how is someone that had a huge turkey dinner and decanted spray paint the same? They both have to sit for a while de-gassing. At least this "someone" was able to sit at the bench. Hmmm? Alone for some reason. Spent time finishing up paint and marking then working on the weathering. Added the dots fr the ambush scheme and the turret number. I may have opened a can of worms with the cross under the 222. from what I have read this has been discussed at great length. Not sure why since it was not too difficult to find photos that show the cross. Some dot filtering, pin washes and streaking. In the smaller scale I have to be careful not to over do the weathering so I am already thinking to do very little more. maybe just a bit of road dust. I figured that if the camo was added with all the fenders on then when they came off the base would be yellow so I painted that in and made it dirtier for the crud that would have gotten in there with the fender in place. Painting all the tools and cables in place was a test of patience... which almost gave a out a couple of times.

I like the new camo look Marc . By adding the dots does that make the camo the "ambush" type ?

Yes Bill that is true but usually only a concern when discussing how many cows are blowing steam. But I guess with that many Americans contributing after Thanksgiving I guess it really could add to the problem ;D
Hey shell thanks for stopping in and the comment. Yup, that is officially and ambush scheme.

Thanks so much Dicky. I started to work on the tracks. DS tracks are not my favorite. Are there AM tracks in 1/72 scale? Anyway... mixed some hull red and NATO black for a burnt sienna(ish) color and painted the extra tracks for the turret. I want to get a bit more of a rust patina on them. One of the reason I am not a fan of the DS tracks is the test fut process. There are instances where the DS tracks are too long so you gotta try 'em 1st with all the road wheels on. These little buggers would not stay on so I glued them. But I had not yet done the steel rim so that task will be a real joy. For the main tracks I turned them inside out and hit that surface with some metallic gray. The area that the wheels rid eon was taped off and the the whole thing got the same color the turret tracks got. I only taped the outermost section as the inner scraped areas will be hidden by all the overlapping road wheels.

Not aware of any AM tracks in 1/72 scale unfortunately...and I share your dislike of DS tracks, but you've done a great job with the painting and wear/masking so far Marc, keep it up!

One more reason not to like DS...but you didn't have much of a choice Marc, so glad it worked out despite the cussing! Figs will add a nice dimension to this one, looking forward to seeing them along with the base.

I sold DS tracks on eBay recently... surprised they were sold quickly. Have absolutely no interest to use them but in your situation I would have no choice but to use for a 1/72 build.
Am so glad you are still planning to include figures! You know how much I dig figures. Again, real great looking KT!
