Oh bugger, damn and blast!!!! I gave this a coat of liquin and grey enamel wash and it has buggered everything up! No chance of finishing this before the GB closes Its going to need a full re-do of the paint job over the running gear, but I suppose it'll give me a chance to do a better job of things this time P

Right then, after some careful masking, quite a bit of cussin' and a bottle of Model air Russian green, things are looking a bit more like the should again. Keepin' away from that bloody liquin stuff this time.

Pehaps a bit too clean -even for a paprade finish. I think some very light additional weathering is needed. Ho-hum P

Thank you very much Thom.
Can anyone recommend a good i.e consistent, flat coat? I used a spot technique for the Guards decal rather than an allover gloss coat, and the supposed flat coat that I popped over the top has come up shinney. TIA P

Thanks jackwagon- no over-riding desire to put it through an AB so a can of GW will do nicely.

Paul....from my ever diminishing memory banks,I seem to recollect that vehicles on the old May Day parades they used to have, they all looked shiny in the newsreels?

I finally got around to getting the shinney stuff on this last night . A couple of misted on coats and then straight into a covered box for 24-48 hours before any fingers get up close and personal. A quick glance through the box this moring and things seem to be taking shape It'll still need a bit of a wash to pop out some of the surface detail- but nearing the finishing line for sure now- maybe I'll get some update pics up as soon as I think its safe to try. Pics have highlighted a few areas that will need another shot of shinney , but the silvering issue is no longer ... ;)P Barrel/searchlight linkage still need to be attached but leaving that till as late as is humanly possible P

Yup- and I think a gentle brownish filter or wash just to gpop some details and maybe provide a bit of tonal variation. P

Well better late than not at all, finally finished the ICM BM-21 "Grad" 1/72. Overall not a bad kit, had some fit issues had to move the rear axles back about 2mm because the the foremost wheel would not fit behind the storage box. Had to rebuild the spare tire rack as the kit part was mangled beyond repair and had to rebuild the right side mirror, carpet monster issue. Also had to build plate for the rear license as none was provided. So on with the pics. Thanks for looking and comments always welcomed. Cheers, Thom

Pete: Thank you sir it was a fun build and I know there is something cool about there look. Dicky: Thank you mate, they do have some weight to them that is for sure but a 1/72 scale its more like a meatball then a T-bone.. Cheers, Thom
