Congrats on an awesome finish Moose .Very well done despite the door issue.Have to agree with Dicky on displaying her all opened up. Thanks Leon. I'm definitely gonna display it open... Have to build a custom case for her. It was a little heart wrenching to have all that detail then you cover most of it up

Moose,
Great finish you've achieved there, very nice indeed. I know that these large build project can get a little protracted and it takes focus to get them to the finish line. You certainly have a model there you can be proud of.
I'm interested with the door saga, I haven't seen any other builds of this kit online and the Tamiya article of the scale motorsport version does not seem to have the door issues, I wonder how David dealt with this problem? Could you send me some links to the other blogs/builds you have found so that I can look into this please? Once again great finish.
Best Regards
Keith

Boots, Boo, CeeBee and Keith...as always thanks guys! Keith please read...I'm looking for the links ...I'll get them to ya as soon as I find them. I will suggest building the doors early (mocking them up, no glass) if you're comfortable doing that. In hindsight, I think I would've done that so I could avoid any issues later. Here is what I did though. It did help a bunch in fitting, opening and closing better. The final issue I had was when I push the bottom side of the doo all the way in the top pops up....push the tops down and the sides pop out and door wants to open lol...I think it is a little bit of a tolorence issue in design or may have been paint thickness on mating surface of the door pieces. I filed the ridge at the top of the windshield horizontal frame, where the door rests in. It had like a curve to it...maybe from mold...so I smoothed it to have more of a 90* angle, where as before it rolled back at like a 70* angle (I'm guessing on the angle too lol). You can take the doors, assemble them and set it in the chassis and you'll see exactly what I mean. The work I did helped stop the snagging (which tore the paint to hell on door edge), and helped the doors settle better. They do close about 98%...so not bad but I'm anal about that stuff...especially from a $300 model lol Oh and ORGANIZE ALL YOUR SCREWS BEFORE YOU START!!! I'm TELLING YOU...TIME SAVER HAHA

Any questions you have though Keith, or anyone building Enzo, please ask. I did have many minor issues to work through and hopefully my experience can help. Keith I'll also photo the instructions where I found some errors buddy. Nothing bad just example they don't tell you to add 2 360mm lines...you figure that out when you get towards the end when the tell you to "install the 2 lines that were installed at step # whatever lol" though at step # whatever says nothing about the lines

Hi Moose,
I think the kit described in the scale auto article is for the new 1/24 version of the kit, I seem to remember they printed a retraction about this shortly after the article came out. My kits are both 12047, the original release. The article in the Model cars mag I have seen before, this is the one built by David Thibodeau for SMS, although it is not the one in the July Tamiya magazine, so either he built a second kit or modified the first build for the article. The first all carbon version does seem to have the door issues, but the one in the Tamiya article does not appear to have them?
Thanks for posting the links, if you know of any more please pass them on.
I'm soon to be at a stage on the Carrera GT where I can post a few progress shots, hope fully at the end of the week, so far it is going together very well, just lots of carbon decals to cut and install.
Best Regards
Keith

It was definitely a haul. 650+ pieces sounds intimidating for a reason lol Don't worry. I have started last year a BR52 that has original 753 pieces. I bought all the available aftermarket and I lost count on 5000+ pieces That remainds me that I need te get it out of the fridge again to continue. Good lord! Don't think I'm ready for that type of part count yet lol
