Got to love how fast these Trumpeter KV kits build up! Nice 'pre-dirt' application Rob with the putty.

I apologize to all the members who may have tried to post a comment here in the wreck fest. Seems I forgot to check off the box so members and staff can post comments. I've made the change and again, sorry if you had problems in trying to post here.

All the remaining kit parts have been added and she now awaits the paint booth....whenever that may be.
Here are some pics of the tow cable retainer thingies. I made enough for all five kits if needed.

I didn't see wartime photos of KV with lifting rings. Only KVs in Parola museum in Finland have rings and these rings were made by finns for sure.

ah, thought so Andrey. I looked at many ref pics to try and spot them but no luck. Good thing is they are not glued on, so I can remove them.

One more thing... for all late KVs Additional frontal armor plate was higher than roof of the hull. It was made to protect driver's hatch from straight hits. Is it your KV ?

Looks like the one I'm doing. Same type but I didn't model after this tank. Now I might...lol. I like the looks of the two different numbers on the turret.
There was no armor plate in the kit for the front so I'm not sure if it had it. I can only go by ref pics since I don't know any tech stuff on the KV tanks. Time to research and study now..

Sory for my english. I mean this plate (or screen). Trumpeter gives the same part for all KVs it produces, but there were differences. The same type of screen was on KV from your 359 kit.

Yep, I checked the #359 kit and that plate/shield is in there. I will use that as a template to make a couple for the other KV tanks.

Too bad the photographer didn't walk around back of this and snap the missing interior shot that nobody can get.

Have to agree Bones. If I can get my hands on the new jsu152 with partial int/gun I'll do an interior for that big turret. Plenty of totally blown apart KV II ref pics out there, plus line drawing so it's just the gun and it's mount I need

Rob
I am not familiar with any photo's showing a whole lot on the interior of the KV2 turret, when Neil Stokes was writing his book on the KV series vehicles I chased down a number of photo's for him and he told me that the interior of the KV2 was the "Holy Grail" for scale model builders and Iv not seen anything to change that up to now. The below picture is the only one I have been able to find showing much and it is the bottom of the gun you are looking for.

I have a book with some pictures of turret interior of surviving KV-2. If it is interesting, I can publish them in one of the Rob's threads

Since I had the AB out and primed Thor, I decided to slap some primer on this one. I used some green toned Vallejo primer, including the 4BO color. Will let this dry/cure before adding some base Green color.
