Like your engine work Stuart! Looks like you plan to plumb and wire it also?
Mmmmm yeah i think i will do the wiring job on it buddy. I'm sure i have a decent pic of one, although it'll probably be a bit of a nightmare lol! I'll use fine solder and see how i progress. Thanks for the kind words dude!

Nice one Stuart! That donk is gonna look the business, when its all plumbed in! .....years ago,I worked on the old Centurions(Briefly),and they were a plumbers/electricians nightmare!!! Wow mate, sounds like a great job you had there! I can imagine the old tanks being a nightmare to work on like that though!

AWESOME!!!! Okay, that does it. Time (overdue I guess) to start my own build thread and have some fun. Jeff Cool mate, what you got in mind to build? Hey Stuart! As soon as I mount (and I do mean install ) this shelf it will free up much needed bench area so I can begin my next 2 projects, the DML 1/35 Japanese Type 2 (Ka-Mi) Amphibious Tank, the "Combat Version" and a 1/16th British Sherman Mk.III Mid Production Sicily... radio controlled. I'll also build along with it the DRAGON 1/35th kit too. Kind of a 'Mini-Me' project, painted exactly the same. Now on your splendid engine, any plans to add wiring or hydraulic lines to it also? Probably so but I just had to ask! Then it will look just like the real thing (not that it already doesn't) and really most of this will be hidden inside the tank. Too bad TRUMPETER didn't do like AFV Club did and offer the outer shell in that transparent styrene so the interior would be completely visible. I also always liked the Tamiya flyers showing cut-aways with the cuts highlighted in red... showing the interior. I have an extra 1/16th T34 kit I might do that same way, but it'll take me years to complete! Jeff

Well guys, i decided to add further detail to the engine with wiring and plumbing! Was a nightmare but worth it in the end i think. Took the best part of 6 hours using solder and with my big hands, was i reckon the most challenging thing i've done in modeling. Luckily the wife and step daughter were out and only the dogs watched me almost descend into madness Pleased with it though, i'll grab some diesel and see if it starts !

Might be interested in getting one as there isn't a lot in 1/16 scale. Trumpeter do a clear hull and turret part with either the Henschel KT or the Porsche KT if you buy one of the dedicated kits. My KT was the 2 in 1 version where you could do either Henschel or Porsche. I'm thinking of getting the Porsche kit next year and going for an Eastern front winter camo scheme as well as using the clear hull and turret but i see and get inspired by all you guys on here to build all sorts of stuff lol. Fancy doing a stug, panzer iv, Leopard 2 and .............................venturing into the unknown world of large scale P51 Mustangs and FW 190's

Fancy doing a stug, panzer iv, Leopard 2 and .............................venturing into the unknown world of large scale P51 Mustangs and FW 190's Yup, I thought about that and may go that route and build a KT with the visible parts. I just like the T34 much better. As far as detail on the Sherman? I purchased the resin back pour of the 1/16 FOV M4A3 Sherman and will graft it on a 1/16 RC Heng Long M4A3 Sherman. Lots of scratch building and modifying and there are a lot of AM parts for 1/16 tanks, just none really for the version I am doing. I have currently 6 completed 1/16 RC tanks, 1 in the oven and three on the bench plus many more to build... each having to acquire some more AM parts for, metal tracks and 'other things' for them. I was quite happy building 1/35 until I found a club here in Indiana that battled RC tanks and since I had one to build I started on it immediately to make the date and have been hooked ever since. It even stole the thunder from my 1/6 Stuarts I have. So you see, I guess I am an armor guy through and through. But also an armor/military collector too. If it cannot be built from a kit, I buy the RTR or static piece. My wife says I have collected myself out of space as there are also 12 1/18 aircraft hanging from the ceiling too in the 'Mission Room'. Yes... I am sick. Jeff

Nice work on the added detail. It's one of the 'torture' areas we go through as modelers but pays off in the end results!

I like the grime/dust effects on the air filter cartridges! How and what was it done with as it looks very real. Jeff

I like the grime/dust effects on the air filter cartridges! How and what was it done with as it looks very real. Jeff Jeff, i used a dark AK wash on them first, then added a little mig "old rust" pigment to the filter jubilee clips. I then used a small stippling brush to apply mig "light dust" pigment to the filters and that's basically it. I won't wait until the wash is fully dry as applying pigments to wet and dry areas gives different but more realistic effects. Stuart.
