Hi folks, this is as it is on my bench right now.
Parts (canopy, elevators, rudders etc..) still dry-fitted.
Next will be the prop which I want to finish in a laminated wooden look like the WWI plane props. 






But will let it rest for a couple of days and will continue and hopefully finish this project.
(Another shelf project)

Posed some figures & they are ready for the primer.
Are bashed 1/35 Miniart figs and they are quite tall for 1/35 so they match pretty well with this 1/32 bird. =+)

I still can't get over how great the wood grain effect has turned out. What are you planning to do over the aluminum surfaces?

Also, good match-up with the feet and hands on the two figures. It's often difficult to get all the angles for the knees and joints just right on an uneven surface. These two fit very well.

I'm glad with the posed figures as well.

Since there is a lack (imho) off good 1/32 figs I used those 1/35 Miniart sets and they are great to use on 1/32 plane dios/vignettes since they are quite tall for 1/35 figs.

What are you planning to do over the aluminum surfaces?

The complete plane will receive some washes etc..
Will apply a dark brown wash over the aluminum surfaces and still have to add some airbushed postshades but that's a tricky one cause I could ruin my previous work.

So many possibilities of what he could be saying to crewman #2

Just started with the pinwashes and almost finished the bottom.
Thnx god planes having a bottom e.g. experiment area. 

Since I dind't want to screw up the intesive paintjob I did not want to use the white spirit/ oil combi neither the acrylic ink/Tamiya X-20a combi.
So I used gouache (water-based paint) and demake-up stuff.
But after washing the panel lines with gouache and rubbing of the paint with a cotton pad the paint still came out of the panel lines.
So I used a polishing wax together with a cotton stick & pad and that did work a very well!

Oh my, that was an EUREKA moment you can say. 
Not only the excess paint was removed but also the painted surface was polished. A win win. Even a win win win cause I still can the tweak/remove/adjust the pinwash with water.







The wheel bays are yet only treated with a pencil so they still need a pinwash.
I try to finish this one first as clean as possible and no streaks & weathering are yet applied.
When that's done I gonna add tear & wear.

That's so true.

What kind of polishing wax are you using?

This wax is from The Treatment and it's called "Model wax the final detail".
Never used Tamiya compound but I guess it's stuff like that.

It leaves the dark grey/black in the rivet holes?

The wax dissolves the excess paint/ink on the upper surfaces and becomes dark.
By polishing you polish those upper surface (e.g. removing the excess paint)  and the wax becomes a dark grease residue which you rub into the panel-lines etc..  at the same time. I did the nose with ink instead of gouache and that's working as well.
I think I'm gonna use acrylic ink for the top.

Finished the bottom and started washing the top.
I choose ink this time (Liquitex acrylic ink) to pinwash the stuff instead of gouache.
The acrylic ink is also very easy to remove with the wax but the inksticks better to the surface.
