Hi guys , with my Kingtiger just about finished it was time to start thinking about the base . My base work is always very simple as I only build them for display purposes . With that said then this base will be simple enough, cobbled street and a ruined building . No story to this one at all really , just two tank crews stopping for a chat ..................... Im using Italeri's ruined building set which comes with sandbags and ruined walls , only using one of the buildings for this build. The building does not come with a back so this needs sort with plastic card, I gued it straight on and trimmed with my knife to suit. So with that ready its time to make it a little more realistic with window frames , wrecked first floor and debris which will be in my next update . Btw the actual base is a £1 picture frame with the glass reversed . Cheers Deano

Nice Deano!! Will be following! The braille is fun enough but when you add the mini base...sweet! Plus I have something on deck soon...this will help with the inspiration!!

Some more progress , not much but is something lol.................... Base is ready for a plaster pour , I use cheap wall filler for this . It dries rock hard and also has scribing qualities . Made the floor from plastic card and it looks ok , I would usually use actual wood in 1/35 but it was too big for 1/72. Next up pour the base and leave it to dry , also make some broken windows for the ruin . Cheers Deano

Great work so far Deano! Love seeing dioramas come together, especially when there is some decent scratch building involved! Cheers, Sam

Progress is steady with this ............................ I have added window frame, boarded up window and twisted door frame , just need to add the plywood (plastic card ) to the framed out window. I have used Miliput for the pavement whch still needs scribed as does the plaster. The layout gives me enough room to get both AFV's on placed at different angles . Got a few other things coming for this , mainly street accessories . Cheers Deano

Isn't it ironic how much precision is required to create a ruin? Looking good Deano!
