Looking at a bunch of B&W pics from the flick, the big guy seemed to be on the dark side. With some stark highlights that can be a combo of that semi shiny look of a reptiles skin a bit of high contrast in the photo. So that's what I am going to go for. Photo use for discussion purposes only 1st thing was to take some oil Lamp Black and mix in a bit of white, so it wasn't dead black, and a few drops of Japan Dryer so it would dry this year. I brushed in as thin a coat as I could down into every crevice. Then some dry paper towels were used to wipe that off all of the high parts. Some cotton buds used to get in between the toes etc. Then lastly it was very softly wiped down with a paper towel that was barely damp with white sprits to clean those high parts a bit more. So little spirits that anyone that didn’t see you do it would swear it was dry.

Thanks guy, appreciate the comments. I think I actually have a shot at getting this in under the deadline. the gray gill guy is done, basically. After all the pastes and highlights I didn’t think I was going tot the black pin washes here and there but think I will. Got the girl primed and will start on her shading tonight.

Dicky... Mmmm Gillchops. Nice with a little Chianti. Thanks Bill. Wait no longer and no Nice & Easy here. Not the king you meant but I really thought this was going to be exactly that. A whole new set of challenges. That being said. He is the Creature and his gal in all their gray glory.

Dicky, thanks mate. Nice of you to say.
Bill, I've been wanting to watch to so bad but have not had the time. Maybe tomorrow. A real PITA that it's not on any of the streaming services for free. Only Amazon Prime for 3 bucks.

Inspired choice to go for the B&W, superbly painted too, not over done, not too much contrast, if you know what I mean
