Hi guys Well, here's my entry for the Got wheels got gun GB: the Stryker MGS, a very cool looking machine! I'll be doing a non slat version though: No worries, I won't be using the 'Tiger I' decals for the Stryker I made a start with the running gear and lower hull: That's it for today ^^ Cheers

I was wondering how long it would take for there to be a Stryker in the GB - didn't have to wait long!
This is my fave variant, hands down.

Guys, very pleased to see y'all here, wonderful! Andy: sure bro, some beer would be good...well, not during modelling though Dan: thanks bud, I must say I can't see anything wrong with your photos though to be honest basically I have this set up: three daylight lamps and a huuuuuuge cardboard background , it doesn't have a sharp angle in it so the color graduation in the background is fairly subtle As you I use a Canon 1100 D with the standard lense (I have a version without stabilisation. I always shoot in RAW and use the aperture mode (AV), usually I use an aperture between F11-F18, certainly not the highest numbers because the photos become less sharp. I process them as well in PhotoShop Elements. In the Camera RAW mode I adjust the color temperature to about 6000 Kelvin (in my opinion this makes the colors more or less 'true'), set Color to +40. If the photo is a tad dark I try not to adjust the brightness itself, but instead adjust the bars which can darken the shadows or lighten them a bit. Besides that I adjust the Local Contrast (+70) and adjust the sharpness. After that I sometimes cut the photo in the JPEG mode. Hope that helps a bit? If not, ask me and I'll try to help (not that I'm a big expert or so ) Cheers

jackwagon: yeah yeah, technically in English it ain't a 'cardboard', but in Dutch you can call it that LOL, ok, huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge piece of thick paper then Spud: mmm...nah, don't use manual mode too much since often (or most of the time) I cock up the photos when doing so For modelling shots AV will do just fine LOL Luigi, glad to have you mate, yeah, the eightwheeler with a big gun was what got me interested Paul...LOL, same as above Cheers

Well, finally an update. I glued a lot of plastic parts on the upperhull. Basically these are all different bolted on armor plates, and some hatches. I also made a start with adding bits of 'bling'. I'm not going to use the completey etch set, only the things which really make a difference. I must say - again! - that I'm impressed with AFV Clubs 'fit'. The different parts all fit like a glove. Mould quality is maybe not up to Dragon standards (well, it's almost as good), but fit quality is just superb! Cheers

thanks a lot fellas, glad you like it CeeBee, nah, I have more than enough 'CeeBee style builds' in the basement here . And one of the advantages of a GB is that I have a deadline...for some reason that helps me to actually finish the build well...finally an update...drawback of etch that it takes ages...Except for some minor tweaking I call the hull pretty much finished. * I tried something out btw: and it seemed to work. I always find it hard to glue on the engine grills. Because of the fine mesh it's quite hard to keep the CA glue only in places where I want. So instead of using ca glue, I applied Tamiya Extra Thin on the edges of the plastic where the grilles need to be. The plastic softens a bit and I gently push the grill in place. When the plastic hardens again, the grilles sit fixed. on with the turret now ^^ Cheers
