WOW! This has come together really nicely. The faded paint look comes across really well. Nicely done!

You are not going to believe this... my nephew who was lurking here as a guest because he wanted to see my builds. He saw my comment here so he ordered that set for me as a gift... LOL I might do something to boy's cap to make it look more Afghanistan...

Well I haven't touched this since the last update. I have been pretty busy with work and family, as you can imagine with an 18 month old daughter and a son due in 10 weeks. But I sneak in time where I can. bbrowniii - Thanks man I appreciate it. Oh an great avatar Andy - Sounds like a great nephew you have there. Does he build too? Cheers, Brett

The glacier has moved another few centimeters. Not a lot done, just blended the tyres into the groundwork and added some rubbish and other bits and bobs from the spares box. Regards, Brett

Very cool! Goes to show you don't always need the "newest, badassest" kit tooling available to make a fine build.

Thanks for the support guys and apologies for not getting back earlier. I just got back from the hospital where my wife delivered a 1/1 scale homosapien infant boy. He'll join his big sister in our collection :-).
Dupes: You are right about that. I am not convinced about the sigleminded pursuit of accuracy in kits. I say fake it if you can.
Regards,
Brett

Congrats!!! Way to go... a boy... better hide your stash now!!! Hide it? Heck no! Rub that kid on the kit boxes as often as you can! Need to introduce him early to the hobby via osmosis. Hehehe.

Thanks guys day one was tough but he's already settling down. I was lucky enough to get 6 weeks off to get him set up before heading back to work. Dupes: Little Oliver already has his own stash HLJ had a heap of Heller Junior kits on sale a while ago. So at three dollars each I bought 20 or so. Apparently they are good for 5+ years and he gets to play with the toy once we are finished. That is of course if there are any left after his big sister is finished, though I'm not holding out much hope though, at 20 months she is already obsessed with shoes and clothes Link: www.hlj.com/scripts/hljlist?SeriesID=5438

G'day, another small update. This time I am bashing away at a couple of figures so that I can call this build finished. Now the problem is that a lifetime ago I was able to paint a reasonable figure, and even won a couple of trophies as an amateur, but I am so out of practice that I am really struggling - doubly so since I only get very short stints at the bench. Anyway here is where I am up to at the moment: Thanks for tuning in. Cheers, Brett T

Thanks Andy. I like to add figures where I can as I think they add a sense of scale.

Well I finally finished! Is this the last entry to be finished for the Got Wheels Got Gun GB? I had thought of putting some graffiti on the BTR but I would rather just finish up and move on. I have added some crappy pictures but will post better ones once my light tent arrives. Thanks for dropping by. Brett

Loving it! Love those figures... I am so glad I have same Verliden set in my stash. Really like those sunken wheels very much too!
Looks like you are the last person but not too far behind because I finally finished mine last week. LOL I still need to add the GB badge to my signature. LOL

Thanks for the kind words guys.
TRM - I was thinking of entering the November MoM. Ill wait until I take some better pics next week and I'll be in touch.
Andy - Those fugures were trouble free. Unfortunately my crappy painting skills don't do them justice. The wheels are the kit items as I couldn't bring myself to shell out for a resin set on a kit that was a bit of an experiment.
Tojo- Thank you, your very kind.
Leon - again thanks for taking the time to make a post. There really wasn't too much of a plan for the layout. I kind winged it and placed the figures after about 30 seconds using the "she'll be right" technique.
Regards,
Brett

Thanks Dupes. Im still trying to dial in the camera settings but at least I have dealt with the problem of the light washing out the subject. For 16 bucks delivered it has made a hell of a difference.
Cheers,
Brett
