Boyd, the button is at the top, but as you scroll down the page it will stay at the top of the screen, visible, no matter how far down you scroll. So this means you don't have to scroll back up. If you scroll down to the very bottom of the page, the footer, then it will not show. But if you scroll just a bit up then it's there. At this time I am not looking for a code to place another one at the bottom, which there is none in the index of codes. I am waiting for a few important codes at the moment that are priority, for admin and some for forum features. We'll get it perfect at some point. I can only add or change when codes and plug ins become available. Hope this helps bro.

Rob,
That is what I thought, but when I scroll, it does too. Pops right off the top of the page... I have to scroll all the way back to the top to see it again. Let me go back into IE and see if I get the same results, but this is how it is working in Chrome. That whole bar (with the page numbers too) just scrolls right off the top of the page.

Alright, so I learned something new - with Chrome, overall, the site seems faster, BUT with IE functionality seems better. For example, the page/Back to Top bar stays put when I am in IE, but rolls off the page with Chrome...

I'm using FF and have no probs yet. But then I am bouncing in here and on the PB forum for codes and learning this lark.

It scrolls with me on FF - yet another reason I cast IE aside like a soiled sea-sock! I havent opened a darn thing with IE since i started with FireFox the other day. Not had one single issue since the switch.

That's funny Boyd...I use Chrome and have no problem with the scroll bar but when I use IE 9 I get all the posts as centered text! Seems like we all have to figure out which combo works best until PB can sort out what's happening (if anything) on the back end with the way their servers are parsing the interface with various web browser versions.

Bill
You are right about the center justified text! I'd noticed that too, but figured it was just a feature of the system. I agree that we'll just have to muddle along until PB works out their kinks. As for me, I seem to be having the best luck it IE, so I'll stick with it, for now!

OK stupid question time... What is "Following" I got a bunch of notifications that I am being followed. And people think I'm paranoid?

OK stupid question time... What is "Following" I got a bunch of notifications that I am being followed. And people think I'm paranoid? Just like FSM's friend feature making it easier for others to follow or find your builds. I sent you a request... if you send me the same then we will become BEST FRIENDS FOREVER! It really helps because the pace of posts are picking up making it harder for me to follow or find my friend's build so I just go to my profile and click on.

Is there anyway to make the forum display using the whole screen? I HATE having it limited to the center of the screen with big wide empty sidebars.
I'm using a 27" Monitor and I would like to use the whole thing.
Also, can we change the color scheme?

Thanks jackwagon. Yeah what he said...lol
There are currently four color themes and I will be adding another two or three standard/stock themes already set by proboards. As for the width, it's set to this at the moment until there are plugins and codes available to change the width. keep in mind that the L/R spaces will be for the tables and sponsor banners. These will stay as they do support the forum and we have to do our part in showing the banners and links. It does carry over from the main page .

I think we inherit the size from PB CSS. This means that we should overrun it to change the width...

Without getting too technical, this version of the forums uses a 'fluid' layout for the space and margins. If you would prefer less space on the margins, your option with a large monitor (I use a 23" myself so understand where you're coming from) is to set your browser window to less than full width. That's the only way to avoid the large empty spaces off to the side but won't do anything in terms of causing the forum post content to stretch or display wider as those content areas of the forum pages are 'fixed' and not 'fluid' within the style sheet...at least not yet.

Member Kyle (DieselRocket) has stopped getting email notifications of new post on bookmarked threads. Just kinda quit suddenly i guess. Is there something i can do or tell him to try to reestablish his notifications?
Thanks, Gary

Well, the new forum's been up for a few weeks now. I don't know how it is for the rest of you, but for me, it loads slower than a Maus doing the Pike's Peak hill climb (compared to how it was). I don't know what the whole problem is, but part of it is that the ad above the Iwata one at the top of the page really takes it's time loading. This causes a slow down every time I go to a new page, taking a lot of the fun out of it.
Any ideas?

I does take a bit longer to load, but not all the time, for me at least. The only way to remove the advert thing is to pay to have it removed...that aint happening anytime soon tho. I think some of the issue like slow uploading is due to the host server still changing over forums, and making needed changes. I may take a bt longer for all 3.2 million pb forums to get changed over to the new V5.

Steve, no spell checker on PB as far as I know. I believe there was a question asked about this on the pb forum for admin's.
Boyd, I will check into the back-to top button again. I have attempted to install the plug in for this (on the beta forum) but it did not work.

Hi all, is there a way you can copy and paste from MS Word or Outlook without it brining all the formating text with it? Or is there a spell checker on the site I've missed?
My speeling is crab and it winding me up a tit ( as the late great Ronnie Barker would have said ) Steve, try using IE Spell checker, it's a handy tool for checking spelling on forums and other places. www.iespell.com/

Unfortunately, it's going to curtail my posting a lot until it does.

I think once all forums are changed over and bugs fixed it will all run smooth. I too have problems now and then, but I know why it is. There isn't much we admins can do as far as server issues go. I do spend more time on the pb admin forums than I do here, trying to keep up to date and take care of bugs when they have ways of fixing them.

Thanks Rob. Turns out it looks to be an IE conflict. I just signed in with Chrome and the site is loading just fine, with no hesitation at all. What a difference!

Don't worry too much if you cannot get it set up - I am back to using IE to visit the site and, aside from having everything center justified, the functionality seems pretty good (and the back to top button stays put right there at the top of the page like it is supposed to! )

Robbo, that might be because of the change over, lots of categories and boards. I am trying to keep the amount of boards down and changing them to sub boards so that the forum doesn't stretch out and you end up having to scroll and scroll and scroll to get to a board. We could reduce the forum and make it easier to find things, but that would mean getting rid of categories non military or armor related. No worries mate, you'll get the hang of the new forum. I didn't have a choice in switching over, just when to switch.

My screen isn't wide enough either. Have to scroll side to side to just read the threads. It wasn't like that till this weekend.
