This should be fun! I will add aftermarket items such as resin tires/wheels during the build. The vinyl tires must go! Thought I'd start a thread to get me back at the bench. Jeff

Oh yeah!!! Count me in... bringing beer over. Always liked the look of it. Was it recently released? I believe so. This and the URAL-375D or the URAL-4320 I'm thinking about this look: But when doing some research on it I stumbled across this... ... I just knew I had to have the combat version! I'm not in a rush to complete this as I have already seen this: www.voyagermodel.com/productdetails.asp?itemid=PE35600What do you guys think? White walled tires? Jeff

No way, that beast has to be dirty and mean. No sissy white walled tyres for it... I guess that means no tassels on the mirrors too, huh? Jeff

Hi Jeff, this I want to see done dude . These russian monster trucks are just so "bad a$$" , they're built for a purpose, and it isn't going for a weekend drive at a prepared "off road coarse", in front of the shopping center . I got this booked marked, good luck with it Jeff. Paul

I finally got around to ordering those resin tires/wheels for it. At least that's on it's way while I build the chassis and then later get some PE for it, or not. Maybe I'll use the kits tires to build a fire? LOL Jeff

Sweet choice Bud. I gotta say, I'm not such a fan of the wide white look. And tassels? I can think of a couple of much more interesting places for those. What ever you end up doing I'm sure it will be a great build.

It will be a tough decision on which way to go, depending mostly on availability and price. I haven't done a lot of PE (just the usual grill and box) so I might pass on a lot of it. The rocket launch tubes are a HUGE benefit as you can imagine, sanding all those tubes! LOL I've seen builds that encompass massive amounts of PE, then to hide it all with paint! YIKES! I just hope the tires do indeed have the bulge showing that they are making ground contact. Model companies need to address this and even if it uses styrene tires to show this overlooked detail. My opinion!! I'm even thinking about grinding my car models tires to show some of this, even though cars are not as heavy as trucks are. I will get started today pushing aside my Sherman build for now (sorry John) and get busy with some ideas. Jeff

FINALLY broke open the kit, it starts with the frame assembly and the engine. The alternator/generator is made of 4 separate parts. I do have the frame completed and the engine block but will wait to hang the accessories on like the fan belt and exhaust as it needs to fully cure/dry. I'll try and get some pics up soon. Did I mention I initially wasn't going to build the engine... but what would all those drive shafts attach to? Jeff

Looking forward to seeing some pics Jeff. I was looking forward to some pictures too... then my cameras batteries took a poo-poo. So the building must continue! I'll jog down to the store tomorrow and pick a few up PLUS some back-up batteries too. Jeff

Hop to it Lad. Times a wasting. Now, you guys know that I'm not really a rivet counter but I did notice something with this truck that I think is interesting. Did anyone else notice that the front tire treads don't match from side to side? That one "V'' goes up and one "V" goes down? It's the same in both actual photos.
