Hi folks, doing some commissioned art-work for a theater group. Their play is about the liberation of a small village during Sept/Okt '44 in the Netherlands. I'm working on the poster, flyer, ticket & on-line artwork and will use a diorama for the main artwork. Can't disclose the poster sketch right now but here some wip shots of the civilians I'm gonna use. Figs are from Miniart, Masterbox, a Hornets' fist and some parts from the scrap box. The shelter for the figs. (Birdcage for the win Basic color set up done with the airbrush. Final painted figures. Next will be doing the dio stuff... Bye, Marcel.

Thnx folks! I'm glad I finished this party. Painting 7 figures in a row is not always that much fun.... So up to the dio stage. Thnx Luigi. For those figs & colors I'm very inspired by a beautiful book from Stéphane Poulin called "Au pays de la mémoire blanche". Check one of those beautiful paintings in it: www.danielmaghen.com/images/planches/44641-1.jpgCheers, Marcel.

Nice painting, Marcel. I didn't know him. I googled for his paintings and I must say I'm impressed.

Here we go... building 70*50 centimeters of scorched earth. First baking the 2846874 needed bricks.. Et voila, the 2846874 needed bricks. The bricks are done with some sort of ultra light clay. Probably produced by the NASA. Let the glue fest begin... Bye, Marcel.

Nice to see such precision in the brick count! Be careful you don't misplace any of them... Nice quick trick for rubble making.

Thnx folks. Finished decorating the base and putted a grey color on. The complete base will be in greytones so no colors will be applied. The only colored objects will be the figures in their shelter looking up. Grey base color applied.... Removed the grass tufts cause they just didn't feel right. Ready for oil washes & hi-lights now. Goodnight, Marcel.
