I know this is an older post but the subject is one in which I’d on a whim, bought a kit of this several months back and plan to build sometime soon. I noted the bit about…
So what was your final solution to achieve this awesome color (paint, application steps, etc.)?

No kiddin this is older
Given the time I was still working with the no longer available Testors Model Master enamels but there's no reason I can think of why this would not work with acrylics. It's quite simple, just add red to your OD and spray as usual, nothing complicated. You'll want to use small amounts of red while mixing; it's a very aggressive color. I would mix in a little and dab it on something with a brush, note the tone and add more if needed.

Super awesome advice To be perfectly honest, I, not sure I would have even thought of this whole thing when thr time came to paint the built model…that’s why I’ve missed forums like this so much! …on social media, you’d see a pic or two, and when asked the same question, get no or barely a response! Here, I could come back to this thread later, when I’ve actually built the kit and try this, and post a pic of my own to support what we”ve discussed for other modelers’ benefit; like, how cool is that!
