Here is the start of the current diorama, this one I can post as I build. Normally I don't post pics of the base start but as you see I'm stepping out of the box a little on this one.

Thanks guys, plaster wrap shell should be done tomorrow, this diorama will have a couple cool twists, I wanted to include the base as part of the diorama.

Carved out some foxholes and a bomb crater, gave it a once over with a pigment tinted soupy plaster mix (brushed on) now I'll give it a couple days to set up and start rolling on the groundwork.

mask off straight Matte Medium Custom mixed (darkened) groundcover from my Green Forest Floor (in hand is regular green forest floor) Saturate with diluted Matte Medium First of couple layers (less trees and foliage) Scenic Mud "Light Bodied Wet" Dry to the touch in these photos

Starting on some of the artillery damaged tree's. What's nice is I finally have a use for all the trunks that didn't make the regular quality control line!

Thanks guys, - deafpanzer, I shape them all they start off square. This batch is ready for "bark" treatment These are the same that go into all the kits (this is how they start anyway then they are given a coating of full strength matte medium prior to doing the bark texture.
