As I recall it is semi gloss from the can. Good forr decaling then flat coat over that.

Primer's finer! G, semi-gloss would work nicely. I tried some Krylon acrylic spray once, wanted to try some chipping, and hated it, poor coverage and went on too thick. Weird, since all their enamels and lacquers I've ever used have been outstanding, good spray pattern, cover in one very light coat, and dry fast and thin.

Now this is a delightful Kit Bashing project! I especially like the "Skirt" shots. Those really show all of that great additional detail you've put into this. Dave

Thanks Dave. Looking at your sig line, you don't happen to own a Land Cruiser, do you? No I do not own, nor have I every owned one. But, I do ride a Harley. Dave Well I guess the same principal applies.. 'Cruisers are occasionally referred to as Iron Pigs, largely because the older ones (up to and including 1997) were built for 3rd world conditions and as a result of that, they're HEAVY. They also tend to be pretty under-powered and some of the popular "fixes" include Chevy swaps, diesel swaps and factory superchargers for the '80 series, which is the model I have. At around 300HP, they will nearly fly. Sooo, there''s a T-shirt popular at 'Cruiser events and such, picture of a pig sailing through the air. I just Googled "iron pig", got some interesting results. BTW, I shot color this morning, but didn't have time to get pics before I had to run.

Color, then decals. I had a Bison decal sheet for 6 Day M-50's that had the numbers I needed, reg numbers aren't correct but I won't tell anyone.... And some bits: Next is detail painting and the beginning of weathering.

Nice project Russ.....
I always thought the M51 was called the Isherman with the 105mm gun....? The other varient with the 76mm was called the M50 I thought.
But what do I know....don't mean to muddy the waters.

Thanks guys. 109, "Isherman" was something ginned up by the press, not a term used by the IDF. Dragon and Academy went with it on their M51 releases. The M50 had a French 75mm gun, very similar to what was in the AMX15, derived from the Panther's 75. Kind of ironic when you think about it. The "M1" and "M1 Super Sherman" were IDF designations for Shermans with any form of the M1 76mm gun, "Super" being the HVSS tanks. Tamiya got this one wrong on their release of the M1, calling it a "super" on the box. Quiz on Friday.....
