With the 3 commission string bags completed it's time to get my head out of the clouds and back on the ground. 54 tons of firmly on the ground.
This will be the 1st AFV Club kit I've built. As I looked over the sprues I was delighted with the detail. The zim look just about perfect for the scale. Molded details are crisp. The welds are better than some 1/35 kits I've built and there is even casting texture on appropriate parts.
A small PE fret with intcake screens is included. A small bag of screws for the road wheels is in the box but I plan to glue them in place. Mostly to help me resist the urge to push the tank around the carpet making loud BRAP sounds.
I added a set of the AFV Club workable track link to replace the rubber band tracks that are already in the trash. I can dig 'em out if someone want 'em though.

It's a great little kit Marc.I thought it was miles ahead of the Tamiya Tigers.I replaced those tracks also with resin tracks from WWII Productions.Looking forward to your build.

Most of the vehicle is near done. I used some, wood blocks to keep wheels straight while the glue set. Double checked with a scraper blade and small steel ruler. Primer soon. The indy tracks were OMG tedious. So small when you got big sausage fingers. They are supposed to snap together but the pins or so tiny they don't stand up to the [pressure of snapping tem in place and usually break off. I ended up doing them in groups of 10 which will be glued separately then joined into a single length.

Thanks Leon. No kidding Boyd. From all aircraft all the time to all armor all the time with the occasional ship or 50's sci-fi creature I think I have developed a case BMS. Bipolar Modelers Syndrome.

This is a neat looking kit. I look forward to seeing the painting and weathering bring it to life. I'm so not feeling those tracks though. I can barely deal with those in 1/35 haha. Nothing qrong with some BMS...keeps things interesting

John, Anthony, Jimmy... thanks fellas. tell me about it Jimmy. The little groups of 10 kept falling apart as I tried to glue them into 1 length. But I prevailed in the end.

Looking good, man! Nice seeing you doing armor again. What do you use the tungsten powder for...?

Clearly to put weight on the model to keep things in line while the you're cures... Seriously though, I'm interested in knowing that as well. Tracks are always my hurrdle with armor builds. Good to see you've got past them

Thanks guys.
For the tungsten powder you nailed it Jimmy. I bought it a while back to add weight to the nose of a plane with trike gear. Very dense and the powder pours into odd places and sealed in with CA glue. Now I use it as a weight. That 2"x2" jar weighs just over 1/2 lb.

Elco, Leon... thanks guys. The wife and girls are in the city for a show so I am a bachelor today. And that translates into bench time. Followed by martini and Partagas time. In prep for that I took a few minutes off the bench time to stuff some olives with extra sharp aged Vermont white cheddar cheese. I wanted to have some missing section of the side mud guards so the attachments point were marked, plates form strip stock added and the bolts holes drill. A section was cut out and the ends finished off. I'll do the same thing on the other side.
