And here we are with another update...really nearing the end now I reworked some areas with oils. And one of the things I wasn't satisfied enough with were the spare tracks...so I went on with another sessiosn with Lifecolor paints and oil paints (mainly burnt umber). I tried to do them individually so more difference was between them: (I'll show you the old photo compared to the reworked tracks) The replaced wheel on the engine deck(Add On parts) was treated with pigments and oils, and the jack was painted with Vallejo Iraqi Sand, and treated with a spongue and the paints of the AK Rust set. Some weathering using Burnt Umber was done too. Fuel stains were added in place. The rear light was painted. In the past we tended to paint it in a blue-ish color, but photos which appeared in AFV Modeler couple of years ago showed that it actually looked like a very dark green (almost black). I decided to keep it a bit lighter, basecolor was Black Grey, followed by couple of coats by thinned Vallejo Camouflage Dark Green) The gun barrel was chipped and weathered. I decided not to go too heavy on it and keep it fairly simple, no camouflage as well, all to keep things a bit different and create interest I added some pigments to the shovel (it's still a tad dark on the photo because the pigment fixer wasn't fully dry yet). The left side of the Panther got some weathered skirts: Also, the wooden block for the jack was painted and glued in place: And photo of the other side So, what's left to be done? Paint the periscopes, paint the commander and address some areas, but she's almost there Meanwhile: HAPPY CHRISTMAS dudes! Cheers Cheers

Prettige Kerstdagen to you Wouter. What a dirty little pussy you have there I'm in awe of the quality model you are letting us see here! The additional work on the spare links has certainly paid off! I'm assuming the skirt mounting lugs are one of those 'areas to be addressed' - the contrast between them and the skirts looks a bit severe. You've certainly set the bar very high, and I'm hoping to get somewhere near it when I get round to doing my soviet trophy Panther next year.

Leon, thanks buddy, glad you like the dirty lady Guy, thanks mate, hopefully you like the Panther as well lol Dierk, bedankt makker . Like you like the dirty pussy (now that may sound wrong to some of us ). I think you are right about the mounting lugs. I reworked some of them with oils. Thanks for pointing that out ^^ Bill, thanks chap. And you are dead right But I made it ^^ So Ladies and Gentlemen...behold, the final photos of the Panther Ausf. A nr. 401 of the Pz. Lehr Division in Normandy: And especially for Guy, an in detail photo of the jack Must say I'm pleased with it myself...so simply achieved with limited techniques And some more photos which hopefully show the versatility of oil paints for weathering Oh, btw, did I mention here that this one is my first finished build of the year 2015? Spud, get your butt out and start finishing yours LOL HAPPY NEW YEAR to you lot! Cheers

Dierk, thanks a lot mate, and LOL, yeah, I didn't mean he literally needs to show it to us, God no Leon, much appreciated chap, thanks Bob, thanks and thanks . Regarding the pictures: well got a DSLR camera couple of years ago from my wife, and it allows me to shoot photos in the RAW format. Photoshop Elements helps a bit too Guy, thanks bud, and I hope so too, really want to see you finish yours! Nicolae, why thank you Sir, way too kind ^^ Hi there Bill, thanks chap, glad I made it too...having finished nothing would have been an abomination LOL. I hope to double it next year...Langemarck StuG is next and the Yamato...errmm...hopefully finished by the end of 2016 too...but afraid that will be rather hard Cheers

Wouter, I am so glad you managed to push it past the finish line just in time. She is truly a beauty... can't get enough of dirt and mud on the wheels on your Panther.
