the book is also inspiring. it is always amazing how much different ways model builders have to achieve same or similar results... there are some basics in it but also some expert tips... a lot sbs for the dios in the book. the first dio is explained at a really detailed level. in the following dios there are specific topics explained in detail. but i think it is worth the money...
the problem with all books about specific themes is, if you have already some, there is always some repetion. but the small diamonds in the one or other book are so worthy...

tee hee..... Got decals too (flags and warehouse stuff). Looked through everything and the casting is flawless and VERY well detailed. Well worth the money. I cannot wait to start it. tee hee, hee indeed foenetik, right up my street. You are right about the flawless casting, the gasses canister set is fantastic. Waldo is on my hit list. Looking forward to see how it builds up. There is one thing you need to watch out for on all of of the Industria Mechanika kits........you will want more and more, totally addictive. Chris. i know! i want so many of them, like the dragonfly. i saw your remora thread and i wanted it so bad but i like the size of the waldo too (you did an amazing job on it btw). I may try to do something in the vein of what fitchen foo did with his waldo (the one pylon and the water base with the seagulls), i really like that look and it wouldnt take up much space. i have so many ideas!

Yeah, IMech is kinda scary that way...you put a "couple of things" in your cart and you're pushing 300 bucks before you know it!

After a day of working on the Bride of Frankenstein, my wife has utterly caught the modeling bug and we've bought our next project together, Apocalypse Now being a huge family favorite-

These arrived in the post Friday, early wedding anniversary present from the Wifey Hope you build log this one, would love to see it come together. I know it's a Renault, but for some reason it reminds me of an old VW pickup on steroids. #57

Yup, no longer secret about me.. It come out my closet, I am addicted.. My little inner EL DIABLE tell me to go fetch the model kits before it gone!! Remember I am impulsive when it say hobby, my eyes widen open "CANDY"
My wife make truce with me. One month break from buying any model kits.. I already make about 18 wishlist to buy next kit.... Should go for paints or kit? :-)

Haha...my wish list is so long I sometimes don't even know where to begin when the debit card cools off and I need to warm her up again. You just got a pretty hefty load of kits. I'd say stock up on some paints. I'd grab bottles of the usual suspects like black, whites, greys, the detail painting colors like red, yellow, green and blue, aluminum, brass, gold etc. (for interiors etc). Then I'd try to consider the next couple of kits you'd like to build and grab the specific colors for those...then with each kit just restock as you get ready to build if necessary. That's just my thoughts on getting back in the swing of things.

I just clicked the list whatever I see what I want.. I need 100 paint bottles for whole kits. 100 or 200... I am still unsure about which paint should I get tamiya, Vallejo or model master.. Or prefer go for kit.... ?

Thats a can of worms. I love how Tamiya sprays. I would never use anything but if they'd just make straight up mixes of RLM and FS colors. Instead I generally keep it between Tamiya and Gunze's Lacquer, but I completely get that you may want to keep it acrylic.
If I were you I might try out some Mig Ammo if you can get your hands on some. They are rolling out colors in all the usual standards. I have kind of felt like they wouldn't perform like I want, but I watched a short video earlier and I think they may be worth a try.

today the postman rang the door bell... :-) i have such a nice wingy in my stash. i do not want to ruin it... so i need some advice... ;-) great... now i can lift my pe soldering into the next level... one heat resistant plate, possible to stick needles in it (the lower one) and 1 heat resistant plate with steel pins and holding clamps for tiny parts... (the one with holes in it) in the glass bottle is thermal paste, to absorb the heat in already nearby soldered joints... cant wait to get back on the workbench tonight...

Well I went all in with the Ammo stuff. I've held out against pre-mixed washes for a log time - thinking I can just mix anything I want/need up myself, but I'm looking to streamline...and the color offerings are much superior to normal oils...and these have got a lot of positive attention Early and Late German panel washes, engine oil and fuel set, airplane dust effects, airplane engines and exhausts, gunmetal powder, pigment fixer...

I don't have any Ammo stuff yet - hoping to grab some of the aircraft stuff at the spring shows.

It looks to be nice stuff. The idea is the was color compliments certain camo colors...instead of black or brown over every color...dark grey greens for RLM 70/71 etc...17 bottled (some are pigments actually) and the color variations are very nuanced but seem appropriate for their uses. Hope to get to try them out soon.

T is right. Though I actually ordered mine on Amazon since we had points and with Prime it worked out a little cheaper. They do sell individual bottles now too. The vendor on Amazon was Mega Hobby. Got them in 2 days. No issues.
