I admire both your attention to detail and perseverance in creating those leaves and branches John. Very nice, just enough randomness to make it look perfectly natural.

HA!! Looks like I have to start experimenting with some stuff lying around here to do plants. Maybe some feathers or whiskers from our cat. Or wool mice from under the bed. Or or or! What great ideas you provide here is simply fantastic!

Good God! That's a fabulous technique! To achieve the various bends and curves in the thicker branches, are you letting them get "bendy" while still hot, or twisting them from straights after they've cooled?
The leaves are incredible as well, time consuming, but incredible! Hope you're able to watch a nice TV program whilst building trees.

Many thanks for your feedback Yep Frank I reckon there's possibilities everywhere. Old brooms can be good too, after a while the bristles get frayed on the ends and look like some kind of foliage or grass in seed. Hi John. the thin stretched sprue can be bent cold, but with the thicker ones they have to be heated. Moving the sprue a lot over the flame helps even out the melt, then you can bend it in your fingers provided it's not too hot. Cheers JT

JT, you are absolute right! I think we can use so much stuff from the home, basement or garden for very cool doings in our modeling work that it is not often nessessary to buy photo etched plants, laser cut leafes or something more good looking but overprized stuff we can make by ourself by simply thinking a bit how to solve those problems.
MAYBE a hint for a collection of threads could be saving such ideas for further use. Concentrated in one place? Todd, what do you think?

Your trees and leaves are fantastic. A great example to us all of what can be achieved.
