Greetings gents. I have been lacking in the dio department for a while as well as letting my figure painting go to pot. So its time to warm up. Dio will include: I was looking on the model stash shelves and saw all the bases and such that I have and HOLY COW man I have a lot. I dug this out and hit it with the base colors for now. Some figures on the way along with some other goodies and fiddlies ill be adding. Stay tuned. Bob

I love a good Jeep build! I've done both the new Bronco and Dragon Jeeps. And while they're both a little better that Tamiya's 1997 kit, they're not worth the 200% - 300% higher cost. Dollar for dollar, there's no better value Jeep on the market than Tamiya's old standard.
The only serious drawbacks to the Japanese kit are the decals---not so hot but easily replaced--- and the hood latches which have been omitted. No excuse there, but easily scratchbuilt.
Enjoy the build!

John - have to agree 100%. I have stencils for the freedom stars....learned my lesson on the last jeep build. The Tamiya kit rocks and hands down a top pick for me everytime.

Yeah, Bob, the good ´ole Jeep, hell, I love this vehicle! And the very old Tamiya Kit, the one from way back the seventies, with the standing GI beside, was a kit I have build several times as a kid. Nostalgic feelings I suppose! So count me definitly in, I am curious what you will make from this cool kit and all the stuff you want to add more!

If you guys like beer so try the so-called "Bockbier" or the even harder "Doppelbock, Maibock or Urbock" when you have the chance to get it as an Importbeer from Germany. I remember several drink sessions with that stuff and believe me, when you master six or seven glasses of it, you are lying laughing on the carpet and demand for more!

Shay, you know GROLSCH from the Netherlands? If so why do you mention swampwater as beer here, harhar! Nope, sorry Sir, but I must have written this! Beer is alway a cool drink and belgian beer is really good. I love those fruit beers they do!
Bob, cool man! Than you get a taste from what we can do best: Cook and Brew!!
OK, back to topic: Bob, how is the project proceeding? Have I asked if you plan to add some extra figures on the dio??

Grolsch rocks!
Frank - yes some extras or enrout now. I have some Miniart ones on hand and a load of hornet heads. Need to secure some civilians but no one state side has really anything. If anyone knows a good figure shop in the US let me know.

Bob, Verlinden did some civillians in our scale and a German brand, MAIM, did some of this stuff, too. But I guess they are only available here... But there will definitly some figs buyable in the US, I am sure! And Hornet Heads are always welcome of cause. They are merely the best in town, but Alpine did some great stuff too!

Dave - yeah brother but they are very limited and as you know...........Im extremely picky.......LOL Frank - My apologies on the last post response as I spelled you name in-correctly, I have fixed that. I was looking at MK 35 and they had some nice civilians but no one here stocks them, and some of the US web stores do but of coarse not what I am looking for. I did find some stuff and it is on the way. I may also use some of these fine fellows, Im kind of partial to them as I was a Combat MP when I served. I have been looking for some good ground cover and my Brother Ed suggested Buffalo Grass. This stuff is awesome. And i really needed some flowers as well so Noch to the rescue. Working on the base now som more on the way. Bob

Hey Bob - where do you pick up your Silflor stuff? I have a feeling my only option is to buy direct. I've been using a product from Army Painter brand which is apparently the identical product repackaged...for twice the price!

I remember my father giving me a beer when I was a teen. And that was Bockbier, just imagine the rest. Here in Germany theres tons of different beer, including those. Sorry to say so but American beer is a bit... lets say "light". When I visited Georgia in 2009 we were saying "First IceHouse, then Shicehouse (=restrooms)!". You had a whole sixpack and felt nothing. The Czech brother of the owner of the Budweiser brewery knows very well why he isnt giving his American brother the license to do the "real thing". btw. Enough OT. Me thinks thats gonna be a nice dio, Sir!

Bob, you spelled my name wrong? Haven´t noticed that but do not worry about! Hell yes, the Miniart Jeep crew, this is fine stuff indeed! And I guess they will fit perfectly to the Tamiya jeep (when the driver figure is inclueded, well, I think the Tamiya Figures looses a bit compared to the other stuff, so maybe a replacement would be great. As for the Mininatur grass and plants from Mininatur, they are really cool, some of the best plants on the market. Do you guys know lasercut stuff? Lucas, yep, Budweiser is very good, too. The guys there know how to brew! Frank
