Hey there petros, @scott... thanks a lot for the info & clarification ... What surprises me most, so far, is that no one has mentioned anything used by the Axis allies --- Finland, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Italy (not Bulgaria). They were all quite involved in the 1941 campaign and some of their equipment was quite exotic, especially the aircraft. Regards Scott Fraser OK... I'm just familiar with some of the land subjects for those minor allies... * Finland subjects... captured RKKA armor, right? T-26 mainly...? * Hungary subjects... 38(t)? 35(t)? 38M Toldi (A20) ... what else models?? * Slovakia... 38(t)? 35(t)? * Italy... CV33... L6/40 ... ¿Semovente... wich one could be? The more I read, the more I feel like plucking the daisy... Later Jelly

The more I read, the more I feel like plucking the daisy... Finland did not have much originally, the Vickers 6-ton (granddaddy of the T-26) and a motley collection of Soviet tanks they had captured in the Winter War. Hungary started out with Csaba armoured cars, Ansaldo tankettes, Toldi tanks and IIRC Nimrods. These were all destroyed by autumn, the brigade was recalled to Hungary early in 1942 they were re-equipped with Pz.Kpfw.38(t) Ausf.G and a few Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.F. Romania had Renault R-35 and a mix of Škoda LT vz.35 and Pz.Kpfw.35(t) and some Škoda tankettes. Slovakia had LT vz.35 (Pz.Kpfw.35(t)), LT vz.38 (Pz.Kpfw.38(t)) and probably some Škoda armoured cars. Italy had a bunch of different Italian tanks. I'm not very familiar with their stuff -- too mainstream for me. Those are the obvious ones. There are some very nice kits for some of these. Bison/Star Decals have markings for most of the Axis cobelligerents. Regards Scott Fraser

Awwww heck...just thought of another one - my now-obsolete ICM T-35 kit. The tank that saw it's last combat ops in Operation Barbarossa. Moved WAY up the list!

Well, I'm still waiting (mail) the model I decided to build... got it thru e-commerce, a snap shot (an offer)... so now I'm pushing the braille Stug IV plus some (I had them already primed) 1:35th Commonwealth WWII troops... I should post some pics sooner or later...

Oh for cryin' out loud! Dupes told me a week ago that I needed to check out this thread, but I've had such limited time, I managed to avoid it.... until now.
Dammit dammit dammit dammit!!!! Now I know how Andy felt.... must... not.... give.... in.... too... tempting.... ahhhhhhh!!!!!
Crap. My resolve crumbles like s house of cards.
I'm in. Not sure what the kit will be yet. I've got a couple that I want to consider. I'm headed down to the model bench right not to look at candidates.
Dupes, this is YOUR fault!

Aaaaaaand.... just like that I have my candidates: I'll either do Accurate Miniatures Yak-1 on skis or the old Tamiya KV-1 with Eduard PE.
(I know what you're going to say, dupes. "Do 'em both!" Baby steps, my friend. Baby steps!)

So after a little consulting with Dupes today I am going with Dragon's Panzer I Ausf A with the 38 Flak gun mount or Simply the Flakpanzer I! Building commences tomorrow! Very excited for my first ever group build. Excellent! Have you gone over the markings options in the kit yet?

Well, I'll join the chorus of people who "consulted with dupes" (man, he could start a little side business with all this consultation stuff...) and I'm in with the Accurate Miniatures Yak-1 on skis.
