Looking great Andy, and thanks for the toot too! Apparently the American bomber crews were under strict instructions not to hit the Ford factory in Cologne - the population soon cottoned on to this and used it as an air-raid shelter. Ever heard of 'Fanta' aka Nazibrause (Nazi pop)? Made by the German Coca Cola plant when they couldn't get the ingredients to make coke anymore. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I heard that even the royalties were still paid to the parent company (but that may have had to wait til the end of hostilities) Coke, of course, also ended up with a nickname after the war: Besatzerbrause (occupier's pop) Need more useless nuggets of info? PM me

deafpanzer: Thanks for taking the time to photograph & write the toot'. I suspected the arsenal would be small to pull it off...the back of the brush, pin and WARM water were some great tips! 4 hours is quite awhile, but your effects definitely show it's worthwhile.
I really like to drybrush van dyke brown oil to simulate worn metal edges and I can really see how that could work well AFTER doing the chipping. I'm excited to try this on my next build, thanks again!

Gary- LOL! You know my weakness too well. Yep, I already have stowage set from Black Dog and Verlinden. Got all metal barrels too. I can not remember if I got the resin wheels but I plan to if I haven't. And I have perfect resin figures for it too. Leon- Thanks wizardo! And thanks for the karma +1 too! Appreciate it Joel- I got that set too. LOL Aftermarket is my disease I can say for sure! Thanks! Dierk- Thanks... glad you liked it. Can't wait to do it again on my next armor build. LOL Andrew- Can't wait to do more weathering soon! The wife is gone for the entire weekend... wish me luck! Thanks again! Steve- Happy to know it helped! I can't wait to do dark washes and more weathering next... I like your suggestion too! I have several dark washes that I will experiment to see which works best for desert environment.

PM me It's common knowledge that Standard Oil was refueling U-Boats in the Azores as late as Dec. 1944. Yet the one thing that really bugs me is the Tetra Ethel Lead Corporation. They were the world's sole supplier of Tetra Ethel Lead Compound used to manufacture high octane gasoline. Guess where the plants were located? Yes right inside the USA. One reason you saw the Germans use so much 87 Octane gasoline. Still no 100 octane aviation gas (or higher) without it. gary

WWI would've been over and done with after six months - all the participants were skint by then. The banks very helpfully stepped in and offered credit. Germany paid it's last installment for those credits about a decade ago.

deafpanzer: Can stowage look delicious?! How about tasty? Either way, it looks gooooooooooooooooooooood! I admire your willingness to add all that. I had the same thought for my High Speed Tractor but opted out because of cost, painting time/ patience and I friggin' like how it looks without it (reminder to self: post current pic of HST) Nice job, the washes should REALLY bring it to life!

LOL! I might eat them if I am really that hungry!!! Glad you liked... can't wait to add the dark washes but I just realized I forgot one most important step. Decals!!! I am so rusty at this moment that I am trying to remember how to build a model after dealing with bad mojo for so long.

Anthony- Thanks! I am addicted to stowage but sometimes I wish I can build one without them so I can save myself several hours. LOL
John- Thanks for the thumb ups!

Update on my little panzer... started work on the base and the crew figure. Panzer will be driving over a sand dune somewhere in North Afrika... Added rocks I created made from plaster used for train landscaping set. I also applied MIG Neutral wash on the panzer before I started to attach the wheels and tracks. One side completed... One of things I love about Dragon kits... nice details even on the wheels rubber. I have little more than two weeks to finish this for a local show. Gonna make it happen!

LOL! Thanks Robbo for the push! For some reason I haven't touched my laptop since Tuesday so that's why I haven't posted or anything. Had injections treatment to my back yesterday and I don't think it helped. It worked great first time and yesterday was my second but it feels worse now. I am not supposed to be sitting for long periods especially at work or in my man cave... that part really sucks!
Always good hearing from you!

Andy What can i say........I was under the impression that sand was a yellowish colour? I admit though I've never been to North Africa. I just assumed that the sand there was the same colour as the rest of the world!! But clearly I was wrong!!!! Seriously though great work on the Panzer it is looking great!!! Well done. Andrew

Guys, the flu bug has strike the Lefflers residence and I took it very hard. I was out sick for 4 days as it has induced my asthma. But I am recovering with great strong stuff the doctor prescribed. Maybe my wife will admire my firm chest muscles when I am done taking the steroid med. I finally started the work on the tank commander. Originally I was planning to use a resin figure but both couldn't fit thru the tiny panzer hatch so I had to resort to Dragon plastic figure with resin Hornet head. Not my kind of choice since details are so weak but I will live... Base coat on the figure only... nothing exciting for sure. Highlighting with lighter tone... Darker tone was painted deep inside the depth. Painting eye pupil isn't my favorite part but it wasn't bad using hornet head except for its weak left eye. Almost done... I highlighted the edges again. Worked on the skin... so many layerings I would say I used about ten different paint on the face only. I need to finish the detail painting on the radio headset and fix couple of things. Thought you might enjoy the SBS on figure painting. Its one of my favorite part of modeling for some reason. Thanks for looking!
