Beautiful work sir!
Might I suggest that "Somewhere in North Africa" be narrowed down to "Somewhere in Tunisia"?
You added the insignia for the 10th Panzer Division to the glacis. The 10th PzDiv landed in Tunis in or around November, 1942. They fought bravely until the bitter end in May, 1943. The color of your tank and insignia on same are perfect for that unit.

You've done an excellent job so far on this one, Andy. The one thing that caught my eye in the latest pictures are the mold seams along the bottom of the commander's hands. I don't know how they look in real life, but they're really obvious in the pictures. I know it's getting really picky, but since you mentioned taking it to a show I figured I'd bring it up.

John- Thanks... am looking forward to the show too!!! Hope you got plenty in your wallet because I don't...
Agent G- Glad you liked... I remember you being a big fan of DAK like I am. I did my best and went thru several books for accuracy if possible. It has been fun so far! Thanks for your input especially the Tunisia part!
AFV- This is the reason why I prefer resin figures over tacky plastic figures! LOL Did my best... it was an old Dragon figure and it needed a lot of work. I didn't really notice it until now and we will call him "Tricky hand" Hank! The judges will look at the tank they don't count figures or bases as part of contest at IPMS unless I enter it into diorama category that would be a different story. Appreciate you bringing this up... maybe I will have it fixed if it really bothers me. LOL
Mike- Thanks buddy!
JPC- Appreciate it... thanks!
Terry- Many thanks!
Nothing to exciting to post... painted details on the radio headset and started working on the base last night. Will post an update soon I hope!

I have been working on the base for last two nights... I didn't like the weak or soft end around the green foam so I added styrene sheets to make it look sharper. It looks a lot better now! Work in process... Vallejo Sand product is AWESOME!!! Desert was pretty rocky... saw plenty of images like this in my DAK reference book. Next I will spray couple of sand colors on the base to make it blend and apply lots of pigments. Anybody notice the British guys have abandoned their helmets? They couldn't handle Rommel...

Greeeat work there!" >> "They couldnt handle Rommel" Fun fact besides the tank and the desert fox: Rommels son Manfred was a long time mayor of the city of Stuttgart (1974-1996). He seemed to be a very intelligent and modest person and even wrote lots of poems. For example: „Die Zahl der Titel will nicht enden. Am Grabstein stehet: bitte wenden!“ [ca: "The number of titles will not end. Written in the gravestone: please turn over!"] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manfred_Rommel

Pete- Thanks man... good info too! Anthony- Appreciate it... thanks! I have completed the base yesterday and the whole build is ALMOST done. It has been weathered to look dusty. I only need to order a metal name tag ASAP so it can be done in time for the show on Saturday.

well I just got in from the Raymond Street IPMS show. Vending room was lacking, but I didn't go home empty handed. Of course I was looking for oddball stuff. Still came home with stuff I wanted.
Got to see Andy's build first hand, and trust me it's good as the pictures show. To be fair, there were several excellent dioramas there. There was one M26 Pershing that was just stunning! Also seems like I saw a very nice PzKw IV diorama as well.

Gary- Hey! Did we have the chance to meet? I met so many people but I was not always able to read lips and I was swamped with the judging. Yeah we had fewer vendors this year but they sold great stuff especially my favorite vendor the Last Cavalry. Glad you liked my little panzer... thanks! Plenty of great builds for sure and I loved the Pershing too. I saw it at AMPS Nats in Auburn earlier.
Dave- Thanks! I didn't have chance to take many pictures... just the Best of builds for each category. I was part of the local club and I was running around like a headless chicken. LOL Am going to post final pics of my panzer in few minutes.
