Gary - identical plastic, different decals. Unless you have some spare 32nd swastikas, you want to get the Pro Mod version.

Making mega-progress on this thing - can't stop to edit and post pics. Trying to take plenty along the way...we'll see if any of them are usable!

LOL...I am sure you have plenty to enter in the show...without this one, but best of luck getting her to the finish! I just remembered GC was tomorrow....still working on certain family members to take me over the top!!

Are you going to be able to go, T? Me and seven of my club members will be there bright and early...rolling out of here at 5:00 (a.m.) sharp!
As far as the Dinah, it's the last one I have to finish. Need to be in bed before 9, but I think I can still pull it off once I fill out 20 entry forms. Hah!

So I've completely lost track of the timeline here - Thursday morning through Friday night or so. Started by painting the interior and adding all of the colored bits of the Eduard etch set. Certainly worth it...IF you can see it when it's done! Quick work to get everything sealed up after that...fit is excellent (Tamiya). Ready for the paint booth with the Montex masks applied. NO WAY I was going to do this thing by hand! Bottom color, masking, top color: Fading done to all of the upper panels and control surfaces. Montex markings masks (and a couple of home made dealies) applied. No decals on this one at all. Peel everything off and you get this:

Still unpacking from the show...hopefully I can get some decent pics taken today and posted up. Got 2nd with this thing in 48th multiprops. Not too shabby for a highly-accelerated build!

Looks great Dupes. Always thought Dinah's were one of the coolest Japanese aircraft of the war. How did it do at the contest?

Not too shabby - got 2nd in a pretty crowded 1/48 multiprop category. I'll take it!

Can't deny the clean lines on this particular design, that's for sure.

Thanks Dierk!
Yeah, you know it Bill. Lot less lumpy than most of the other WWII twin-engine birds.

Very nice effort dupes. An interesting choice. We definitely need more JAAF/IJN subjects. Very well executed for sure. she's a fairly big bird in 1/48 scale.

Thanks a ton fellas! David - I agree. The Japanese stuff is really starting to grow on me. Partially the delay was the fact that you don't see this stuff built up very often at all! Going to change that (at least around here). Looks like I'll be shooting for a run of IJA birds before I start in on the navy stuff...so keep your eyes out for a Ki-27, 43, and 45 sooner rather than later! Andy - sure looks different than the American and German WWII bombers! Gary - have at it! It's really a very simple build, especially if you go OOB with it. Shoot, if Tamiya had U.S. twin engine aircraft in 1/48 I'd be allllll over them after building this one. Imagine a recessed-panel line B-25 with perfect fit...mmmmmmmm.
