Andy, Bill... thanks guys. The blue was my use of Tru-Color paint. I thinned with regular lacquer and it really sprayed nice and smooth. The coverage was amazing.

She's looking pretty good. I'm just surprise that Hasegawa have not came out with the TA-4 or the OA-4.

Had to do a little repainting I started in with the decals at the tail. Got the NAVY on there and as I was getting ready to add the sweeping white graphic I asked myself, " Hey self... How did he get the white to show up on a white rudder?" The reply was, "YA DOPE... they made it visible by having a blue rudder!" I guess looking at so many A4's and the norm was white control surfaces I just did it without thinking. The little bit of red adds a bit of pizzazz. I mentioned the Tru-Color coverage being great. The tail is over black and the rudder over white and that's just one pass coat. No difference at all in the hue.

Thanks Leon. Light at the end of he tunnel for the bird. Then I can concentrate on ordnance. So if we cover a model with wash... how come it ends up dirty

Thanks Anthony. I agree 100% about getting the decal applied. Beside an aircraft I am thinking only the guys that build race cars get that feeling. You don't hear an armor guy sticking 2 balkencreuz on the side of a turret say, "Yeah baby, now you're starting to look like something." Now before all you 100% armor guys jump all over me... I build armor too You don't know what decaling is until you've stenciled a modern jet fighter. I may take an afternoon off to count the NO STEP decals on my F-15

Marc, Todd... thanks guys.
Last night I realized a mistake. I never painted the flaps and leading edge slats. Should have been done at the same time as everything else to go thru the process and end up looking the same. The red parts i am not to concerned with but the white on the flaps doesn't quite match the over all color of the underside. Again, on the bottom and less concerned. But the slats are right out there.
But the missiles and the MER looks SWEEEEET!

I used the black basing, well, green basing in this case, to get some tones in the olive drab. Works even on the little bits. The yellow stripe decal were not be very cooperative to say the least. As long as the bombs were on toothpicks I chucked 'em in the Dremel and just had to touch the end with a brush of yellow. I replaced the cables on the MER and got it painted and stenciled. Is it accurate? Accuracy schmaccuracy, dunno if it's accurate or not but it look cool. Too bad it will be underneath. Have I said recently how cool bullpups are?

Oh yeah. Tasty stuff there! I'm going to need to try the dremel-ordinance-painting method (although usually things go shooting off when I try that).

The thing I found really useful on my Scooter was drilling out the bombs and TERs and installing metal pins. Frustrating thing with every MER I've tried in 1/48, though is that they seem to be underscale, and if you try to mount, say, Mk.20 Rockeyes fore and aft, they don't fit unless you move the mount locations on the bombs (and I'm assuming they don't have fore and aft-specific bombs in the inventory...)

Demon, Leon mustang... thanks guys.
Doogs, I ended up cutting off both mounts on the bombs since 1, they didn't line up with the rack and 2. if i tried to line them up with either of the bomb mounts they still didn't fit, so there is a lot of fudge factor going on there.
