Nice, how did it went on? I generally in the past found it a bit hard to get the milliput extra fine to 'stick' to the surface.
Cheers

Nice, how did it went on? I generally in the past found it a bit hard to get the milliput extra fine to 'stick' to the surface. Cheers I make carves in the surface with a scalpel, and also sanding is a solution for this issue. Right after the preparation of an amount of Milliput it's very sticky, I apply it and I add the texture after 30 minutes. Hope this will help bro !

Sure helps...I found a solution too btw, I use Magic Sculp now...I find it even a bit finer...but then again, looking at your result the Milliput sure is up to it...still got loads of it so might try that next time
Cheers

Thank you Andy ! Wout, Magic Sculp is finer and ideal for converting and sculpting figures too. The rear plate was glued onto the lower hull. Now I still have to add two strips in the 2nd and 4th exhaust. Frontal armor plate started. Best regards ! AG.

I'm glad you like it so far guys. I had to deal with a serious fit problem. The hull and lower hull weren't a piece o' cake as there was always a gap at the front OR at the rear. So I decided to start glueing from the rear to the front and I filled this "Grand Canyon" with Milliput wich I immediately zimmerized to forget this issue as soon as possible. Don't ask me how this could happen, maybe it's a Dragon flaw ? Anyways, I think I did well to first put these two parts together before adding all the details. Now it's ready for more zim treatment. Best regards ! AG.

It's an older Dragon casting, fit wasn't perfect on mine too...though not as huge as you describe and show. Looks great, nice to see the hull

When I built this one a long time ago, I recall having similar fit issues. Definitely the kit and not you AG. An elegant solution to take all your worries away for sure.

Thanks Bill, Wout, I was wondering if I did something wrong but now I can be sure it's a kit issue. The Zimmerit saved this cat's a$$ LOL !

armorguy: I have a Dragon 1/35 Panther A Early on my shortlist of "get-to" builds so I wanted to be sure to check this out. That's some SWEET zim' work on the back of this baby, I especially LOVE that battle-worn look! Why'd you leave the front zim' so pristine? It'll be enjoying watchin' this one!

That is a very good job with the zimm. The front MG was an MG 34 with an armored sleeve round the barrel Eddy

Thanks Eddy, that sleeve must have made me think it was a 42 instead of a 34, thank you fella ! SMJmodeler, maybe it was attacked from the rear , no serious, I can still add battle damage at the front too, good idea.

armorguy: I was just watchin' your back with my zimm' suggestion. It's your call of course...I just thought, if your like me, sometimes we miss something that a second set of eyes will catch.

Hi guys, I couldn't resist my Panther works any longer so I put it on the hobby bench again, it has been collecting dust too long since I'm sculpting a fantasy figure which isn't done yet btw. I glued on the left flank Atak zimmerit and added battle damage to it. And now I'm gonna sculpt some more spikes on Mr Toad's neck ! Best regards ! AG.

Coming along really well.
What's your thoughts on the Atak zimmerit? Been looking at some of the 1/48 stuff they do but never took the plunge.

Modsrule1976, this is my first Atak zim build and cutting it needs to be done with a sharp scalpel but it's easy as it's very thin stuff.
Leon, I think it will stay on the bench until it's done together with Mr. Toad !
