Just got back from the Hannover VdPm show, no, not in Hannover as the club's name might suggest, but Stadthagen, a very picturesque little town about 50km/30mls from my end of Hannover.
The standard of modelling was quite varied, from pretty stunning dioramas to ho-hum - you'll see what I mean when you see the pictures - or just scroll past my blah straight to the action.
There was a small competion too, but no photos as the light was terrible - and to be honest, most of the entries were not as good as some of the displays in the show IMHO.
Our own Rob's German brother from another mother who specialises in civilian wrecks:
Really liked this one - sitting on a turning base, called 'Good Times - Bad Times'. Showroom condition on one side:
Breaker's yard condition on the other:
Nice work-shop scene in 1/24. Particularly liked the flickering light from the weld-torch:
Welder goes off...
and back on - looked totally convincing:
There must have been some cross-contamination between some members, as there were numerous work-shop dioramas:
This one was 1/9th scale (I'm guessing) it was huge :
Nice:
From the ginormous to the minute - 1/87 bicycles and motorbikes:
Even in this scale people don't seem to be able to stick to OOB:
Some floaty stuff:
Hmm, well...:
1/16th?
More floaty stuff and people:
Found the horses really well done:
More green stuff:
I think I like the display-case better than the actual dio:
and last, but not least - especially like the guy in his undies hiding around the corner :
There were five dealers present as well, but I limited myself to some paints and lotions and potions, as the prices were not what you might call consumer-friendly.
Well worth the 2.50€ admission, and as a bonus the sun came out both on the way there and back, so the drive using A roads (confusingly called B roads in Germany...)only was really enjoyable too - certainly made a nice change from refurbishing our storage room in the flat/appartment.
Apologies for the lack of picture-quality in some shots, but the lighting in the hall was sub-optimal and I hate using the flash.
Hope you enjoyed it.
