Thanks a lot. I plan to finish it until october/november this year. It might be paused again due to other modeling and non-modeling projects.

Disguising the wires as bamboo is marvelous! Sounds like I had a plan, John, but ... - Melting wire insulation to get some bamboo-like sticks. - Thinking about the circuit for the lights. - Remembering that the bamboo sticks have a hole. - Removing the guitar wire from some of the sticks. - Drilling some accidentally glued holes. - Trying to fiddle two insulated copper wires through one hole (for the long lanterns). - Registering both are too thick, and thinner wires don't find their way through (and won't keep the bamboo straight enough). - Finally finding a solution with a thin non-insulated silver wire, and a thicker insulated copper wire side-by-side. First light in the bamboo cave The now visible wires on top will mainly be covered by the structure of the thatched roof. Still lots of details to do, I think i'm halfway through the parts like dishes, bottles, spoons and pans for both the tables and for the ceiling.

Perfect way to disguise the wiring even if it did take some trial-and-error to get there.

Do you have any progress pictures of the lantern construction? This is cutting edge stuff. I watch a lot of model lighting websites and this is the first time I've seen lights and lamps done this well.

Normally I hate lighting stuff, calculating resistors, soldering, bending stiff wires and so on. It's less creative than just modeling But in this case, I agree, a warm lighting is very essential for the mood. The orange light makes up 50% of the original scene. The lighting stuff (lanterns were fun, I'm speaking of the wiring) is one of the reasons why I paused this for a while and started the axiom project in between. And why that project is not lit. @john, these are the only pics I have (see posts #14 and #70) Do you know the phenomenon? The more experimental the work, the less pictures you take Would you like to see/know something special?
