Well... the washing and detail painting isnt on yet, Leon. Lots of possibilities to ruin it.

Höhö, how does Chuck Norris taste honey? He snacks bees. Muharr!
The X-Wing comes out great, Lucas, no worry you should have, like Yoda would say. Keep it coming! Lie I say!!

Just came back from my favourite hobby shop. What can I say - its about 80 km away from here (Leipzig has no "classic" model shops, although it has 500 k inhabitants ca.!)and the trip was worth it! Of course I got something aditional for the vignette. In this case Aires AeroBonus stuff - thats always a good choice and their 1/48 range is getting bigger and bigger. Good for me - good for you! And no wonder... I got some other stuff as well. But thats a different story.

Thank you Leon. More washing will follow, and the under side of the bird has to be painted too. Still plenty to do left.

These are really important. Of course you can say "you know... its a SciFi model, and who really cares?!". Right. But even so, Ill try to keep it as "correct" as possible, at least for the big details. Like a repaired panel for example. I found that theres a silver part just behind the cockpit for example (can be seen in the picture above), but theres not the same on the right side. Thats not the case for the silver panels in the front - there are two. Stuff like that. Away from this, I have to say, that the project is COMPLETE. Heres a sneek peek:Again, I learned a lot here. How to repaint a model, how to stay calm when tape rips off paint (and you have to tape & paint again), how to use acrylic metal tones on bigger areas and next to the build itself i learned how to find it ridiculous when people discuss endlessly over non-discussable scifi related topics like... "Uh, does that X-Wing really look white?""Man you know... This engine intakes just CANT work - look at real jet engines!!!"[note to myself: Did this person ever see a for example F-16 jet and its intake before?!] and the funniest "issue" of it all: "USE RAL/RLM... for this and that!"Were talking about SciFi builds right? Come on, take it easy. Yeah, that was fun too. Thanks everyone for watching here and encouraging me, that means a lot and keeps my mojo high. Gallery pictures will follow. Have a nice evening, Lucas.

Yes, as a modeler and/or Jedi you have to be patient of course. Im excited too, believe me. To make it a bit shorter until then, heres some good music from the bench... This song kicks a$$. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcrDWAuyqtc

Looking forward to the gallery pics. You certainly nailed it with the reference photo rendition IMHO! As for the 'purist' discussions, many think that armor builders are the worst...until they talk to Sci-Fi builders!

Theres a thin line between having fun and taking things too serious. An example - a friend of me is building the Bandai X-Wing right now. The blue of the decals is much brighter than the paint job of Revell and my mixture isnt that bright too. Totally okay, because... it looks mighty fine as well as it is - just yesterday he told me that every Bandai kit he has (and he has almost every kit of the range) is a pure joy, for a good cause. I like his interpretation - still looks damn sexy!
