So while waiting for the parts for the PZIV Final drive to get back from the printer, I decided to just Build something for me, Not worrying about trying to make a kit, how it will go all together just scratch build and detail out a kit, I have been itching to do the Matterhorn all summer and was collecting as much info as I could find, there isn't much out there a few 100 photos and a few walk arounds, so I finally started. I wanted to do something a little different and have the gun in the process of being set up but there is no kit out there of the Barrel Cradle/Carrier so it's time to scratch build it. The front towing carriage and all the wheels is the same on the carrier and the main gun but didn't want to waste the money to buy a second kit and I am not a huge fan of the rubber tires anyway so I went ahead assembled the kit one and made a mold, The way the rubber fits on the rim it creates a bulge in the tire so now that I have my castings I will go ahead and turn them so they are flat and then beat them up a little. I started the front towing carriage using the kit parts for reference but making them much thinner closer to scale. so this is where I am at right now. I am cheating a little bit and using my laser to cut a few parts. Mostly all the small washers/spacers. I laser cut them from paper index cards which is right around .oo2 so when you glue them down with thin super glue the paper soaks up the CA and makes them rock hard along with a bunch of other sizes in styrene and acrylic The Leaf Springs were cut/engraved in 2 halves from 1/16th clear acrylic then glued together. This gave me the very noticeable seam/casting line you see on the originals. they will look much better once they get some paint on them. Well that's it for now I hope you enjoy.

Off and rolling! Looking forward to seeing you bring this one to life BJ. It's always good to have a 'just for fun' project to fall back on when you need it to avoid burn out.

Loooking forward to seeing how this turns out.
I went to a small local model show recently and passed on a 1/72 version of these that was on sale for only £4 and have been kicking myself ever since.
