A solid 2 1/2 days at the bench wrapped up the sub and got the better part of the Spit done. It will be OOB except for some brakes lines on the LG. This build is all about the markings. This will be done up as the RAAF "Grey Nurse". I just love that Spitfire.

Considering you lost this kit and then miraculously found it, it's only fitting it should be the first build project for 2016. Looking forward to seeing more on this one.

Sorry for the delay Bill but a hearty thank you. Part of this isn't going to sound right... but I miss the holidays... and my wife being sick. She feeling much better, a good thing, which is why I am not getting as much bench time as over the holidays. But I am plugging away. Most of the painting is done. I just need to do the Sky Blue under the tail plane and fuselage where it was over painted foliage green. One day I will figure out how to get a photo that show the black basing effects like what I am actually looking at. Primed and marbled 1st color down and masked. The tape is the new Tamiya tape for curves. And it works! Liquid frisket was used between the tape. And one of the fun parts... getting all the masks off.

Looks great Marc. I've just ordered that new tape for curves. Looking forward to making some squiggles with it and seeing hoe it goes. What is the color of your marbling? White or light gray? Thanks
Rick

Sorry if I missed it, but is this Eduard's weekend edition kit or Profipack? Or is there no difference besides packaging and name? I've been wanting to add the Mk. VIII to my stash for a while to do in Lonesome Polecat markings.
Your build is looking great by the way. The paint is going down beautifully

The paint is going down beautifully Profipack kits have more resin and PE included in the box vs Weekend Edition kits. Same plastic but different levels of upgrade parts and usually price to match.

Thanks Rick. the tough part of using that tape is you need a thrid hand to hold the model. Unless there is a better way of doinf it seems to be a 2 handed job to egt the cruves laid down. Andrew, nicely... thanks. Nicely, Bill has yoiu covered on the differences. And there will be differences in those differences. Confused yet This kit added 6 marking options instead of 2, the PE fret and the canopy masks. No resin in this one bu my MiG-21R ProfiPack did have resin added with the masks, PE and extra markings. Worth it the price difference? Using the Eduard MSRP the difference between weekend and ProfiPack for the Mk. VIII is $20. To add the PE and masks to the weekend kit is $27. So your ahead $7 with the ProfiPack and even more when you add the extra decals.

Spitty's looking spiffing! I see why you went for those markings - you don't see them every day.

Thanks guys. When I put the roundels on the wings for some reason they were curling up like a tri-corner hat. I could almost here the Fife and Drum corp. But I remained calm. Yeah right!. All I could think about was Dupes Jug. But a couple of apps of the big gun... Solve Set... and the sucked down nicely.

If you go 1/48 I think I have a set of checkerboard markings you can have.
