Thank you for your replies and input! I think i'll stick with the Russian in the building. Small update on this project. Managed to almost finish painting the building, and a few figures. Painting is done with Tamiya acrylics and Vallejo. Wheatering is also done with acrylics for the most part. Only a little "dot filtering"is done with oils (Van Dyke Brown and Raw Umber). But be very carefull, the turpentine I use for this can damage the Bluefoam (or Styrodur)! Also added a sign of the Oberwallstrasse where the scene took place. The wheel in the foreground is a resin casting I made from a Dragon wheel (Sd.Kfz 250). On this figure the painting is done with Vallejo, including the face this time. This is the first time for me I used acrylics for this. A big help for me was a nice article by Jaume Ortiz on Planetfigure. Decals on the Panzerfaust are from Dragon. Only need to add the Panzerfaust on this figure and airbrush a matt coat because the trousers are a bit shiny. Next is painting the rest of the figures and the inside of the building! Cheers, Rob.

Rob this is brilliant, I used to be stationed in Berlin in 1970 to 72 you used to see evidence of the hard fighting on a lot of the older buildings, especially around the windows on the upper floors. I am really looking forward to see this progress. Thanks for posting.

I really like your attention to detail on the soldiers. The vertical on this diorama is cool and I like your concept. Keep the pictures coming. Great job sir!

Thanks again guys, for your nice comments! Small update this time. Finished the old Verlinden figure. Painting is done with Vallejo acrylics. Only need to finish two more figures and than some detailing on the inside of the building. (I see that the images are rather big, remember the figures are 1:35! ) Cheers and feel free to comment! Rob.

Excellent work and brilliant composition - but I agree with John: the Russian on the roof is 'over-kill' The boys are right with this. Superb work on the base and building too I am looking forward to your figure painting, it is one of my passions in modelling. Always good to see another figure painters work, as you never stop learning regards Steve H

All the best.

I apologize for being 3 years too late, but this is one amazing display. To say the figures and building are well done is such an understatement. 😮
