Hi all! This is the first forum I have joined so not sure if there is a protocol or not for introductions !! I've been modelling for around eight years and I know I am very much an amateur! But I love our hobby and it's clear that all on this forum are of the same opinion. Hopefully, I will build up the courage to share some of my builds with you all. Thanks

Ahh, so you're a woolly Although I'm in purgatory Germany for the unforseeable future, I usually live in L'pool. Are you a Vespa or (the only true Mod scooter) Lambretta man? And, for this forum much more importantly, what models do you build? Don't worry, you can show us your work - apart from me, we're a nice bunch of people You chose well BTW - best forum on the net!

Meh, it's all North of Gloucester or East of Bristol to I.
Quite what "woolly" is up there I don't know....
I do know what they are down here though, and after we've finished with them we send them off and those North of Gloucester or East of Bristol eat them.... Or so I've been told by strange men in the pub.

Welcome aboard!! I'm to the south of you, in the land of roundabouts and concrete cows aka Milton Keynes. As one of the newer members on here I can only say what a great welcome I received on joining and the great support I've had from the members when I've put my 'wares' up for display and comment. You'll also find that no question is too small or daft to ask if you want some help!! So show us some of what you've done so far!!! Oh, and by the way, don't mind Dierk - he has a few issues... Yours Andrew PS - if you think you're an amateur, you should have a look at some of my stuff!!!

Issues? Moi? The voices tell me it's not me who has issues, but everybody else. "Quite what "woolly" is up there I don't know" Well Sean, in my (adopted) home we don't push them to the edge of a cliff, so they push back The term "woolly", short for woolly-back, goes back to the cotton trade: the out of town dockers generally didn't have the leather back-protectors the locals used when carrying bales of cotton, so they ended up with bits of cotton stuck to them, giving them woolly backs. So bascially everybody who lives in the towns around Liverpool is known as a woolly.

I'm a true woolly back - although my job see's me travelling the globe - born and bred!
In answer to your question I am a Lambretta man through and through. Although having a family means a nice sensible family car is used more and more now.
As for hearing voices in your head....that's normal isn't it?....isn't it?.....yes it is.....oh good! :-)

"nice sensible family car is used more and more now." Know the feeling: 30odd years of riding noting but motorbikes and sidecars - but give me access to a car and the bike is gathering dust in the garage, getting soft in my old age. So what do we call you? modsrule1976 is a bit of a mouthkeyboard full, and 'woolly' isn't all that positive connotation-wise. You're never lonely with voices in your head!

Welcome to the forum. If I had been in the UK in the 60's I would have been a rocker I guess, as I love big bikes and have never owned a scooter. I just got back from riding around the top of our beautiful South Island here in New Zealand - amazing scenery. Had breakfast at a café in Nelson called Lambrettas. What a neat place. They had a couple of Lambrettas outside. Several more mounted up on the walls and Lambretta sales posters all over the walls. The café has been going for quite a long time now. If you ever make it to this part of the world you must go there for a coffee. www.lambrettascafe.co.nz
