I recently picked up a pre painted figure that has a remarkable resemblance to Shay in his profile picture. The likeness is quite unbelievable. A few days ago while going through some of my accessories I stumbled apon a ladder and some paint cans. Suddenly I had a vision - I should do a diorama of Shay on the job. Am sure he said in a post somewhere that he was a decorator. The room requiring a re paint is currently under construction.

Peter
In your 'Three goods guys' post I said of you:
"You must have an amazing 'eye' for things that would work in that brain of yours"
This idea is EXACTLY what I meant!
Even assuming I had of bought this very figure, which is highly unlikely, I may have put a picture up so we could all have a laugh at Shay's expense (sorry Shay!).....but no you take it to the next level or ten!
A top, top idea!!
Now will you PLEASE show us the figure!
Andrew

The Figure - Sorry guys you will have to wait a short while. First we must set the scene and organise the equipment Shay will require to paint the room. Then we will bring him out and put him to work. This is a small simple diorama so you should not have to wait long.
Andrew - Thank you for your kind words but I cant take the credit for all the ideas. The voices in my head have come up with some of them.

The decorator story continues ........ Unfortunately , while Shay was having a few days off work sick ( Dreadful hangover ) squatters moved in to the building that he had been contracted to paint. These were not just any squatters, these were the worst kind, the kind that comes with lots of spray cans. Immediately they set about leaving their mark. This would mean a lot more preparation work would have to be done by our very annoyed painter friend ...or would it ?

I loved those decals! My buddy and I used same decals on the rail cars few weeks ago. Only drawback is that we found the decals to be so thick. We sprayed few coats of Future and it helped little. Were you able to make them look flat and even?

Sure Deaf, paint it by hand, harhar!
And NOW it is time for the Shay picture! Looks like our Outlander (a Kiwi in Belgium, hey, could be the title of a movie!) is a bit absend; hope he will be back soon! The room you are doing comes out great!

Were you able to make them look flat and even? They are supposed to be used on a glossy surface ?? I don't use gloss paints. I gave the surface a thinned coat of Vallejo Matt Varnish then when applying the decals used Microsol / Microset ? on them. They looked ok until I added some streak weathering which unfortunately gathered a little at the decal edges and made the edges stand out more. Gave it another coat of Matt Varnish but the edges are still noticeable. Have decided to just ignore it and not let it ruin my life.

Likewise... I plan to spray few more coats of Future. If not, then we will move on. I really can't find any better graffiti than we got. I will share the pics of the rail car when I have the chance.
Keep it coming buddy!

Keep it coming buddy! I have spent dozens of hours, and nearly 2 full days last week searching for graffiti decals. There are lots of the multi coloured design type ones but I prefer the single colour tag type which is pretty rare. There is quite a bit of the multi colour design type graffiti on ebay in the train section. There are a couple of people doing a set or two of the single line tag sets on ebay - from memory one guy is Sly Davis and the other one trades under Thorn followed by a number. MAIM do a set. Uschi Van Rosten - Spelling ?? do a set. I got some of a guy who trades as Daves Decals in the USA - does some interesting stuff. Woodlands Scenics do a set in 1/87 but not exciting. Have just ordered some from Microset the decals solutions people. They have some tags in HO and N scales. Found another set on ebay offered by an American guy but he does not ship outside USA so not an option for me though I can live without those ones. I have also just ordered some that are Nail Art decals which I have used before and they work fine plus they are extremely cheap especially on Aliexpress. So that is the worlds stock of tag decals covered I think. Also most are in 1/87 scale but they seem to work OK in bigger scales.
