Jagdpanther II "ausf B"

after a month of field trials of the Jagdpanther II.....
crews had complaints and ideas to upgrade.
remember the Jagdpanther II was like this.





The Jagdpanther II was ready at the end of January
Modifications to the Ausf B were finished by March.

Crews wanted a better gun than that offered on the Panther Zerstorer, or the Jagdpanther II
it was stressed that the commander needed better "all around" vision,
and the exhausts were too prone to damage under battle field conditions.

So the gun was Up-graded,
the exhausts were re-routed
(this allowed a revision of the stowage),
and the Commander was given a copula
from a StuG III for better all around vision.
(this also afforded the commander the option
of using the Scissor Binoculars or the IR system.)
After these improvements,
the crews were much more satisfied with the operation of the vehicle.

The fittings done... the rubber was poured the first week of March.

I like the "Ausf B" better than the other one.

I make my models in 1/72 (20 mm for gamers)
